Won't get home till 2am so no chance I'll be up in time, odds are do some road work and hit the gym ( MTB needs many many parts so using it sparingly )

Death to all Bike Magic'ers :)

Have fun in Scotland Mounty, going for a week in July cash permitting!!

Great ride today - weather was perfect and the trails very dry except for the odd patch of unexpected mud. We did 15 miles in 2hrs 45mins including 2 short breaks.

I have suggested that the guys might like to bring their girlfriends/wives along one Sunday (providing they can ride a bike of course :D ) I am happy to lead the ladies on a 8 to 10 mile ride on easy/beginner trails whilst the guys go off to do the more adventurous stuff. Then we could all meet up in the pub afterwards.

Is there any interest in the suggestion? If so, please mention dates at the end of June/beginning of July. Thanks.

No Lads, never let woman loose with other woman they shall only conspire against you, you know it's true :)

My ownly complaint about the forest is it's too dry and sandy in places, dropping off the old railway track down that 2nd steep bank towards the rocks / river nearly had me going into the tree, had to go left around it, PANIC!! :)

unexpected mud??? at the wyre???? normally its a case of unexpected dry patches

my girlfriends limit is towpaths at the moment, and she finds some of them a bit sketchy :?

    @paul
job is not too bad except for the monthly pay. plenty of overtime at the moment and 2pm finish mon-thurs, 1pm fri and 12 sat and sun. i might start taking the roadie in at some point next week as its only about 13 miles along the worcester dual carriageway.

R34PER "my girlfriends limit is towpaths at the moment, and she finds some of them a bit sketchy "

No worries - it will be a gentle pootle of about 8 to 10 miles. All are welcome.

MP, you know it'll start of as a gentle pootle, then you'll get bored and find some gentle single track, like the 45 / Camber :) The wyre due to its steepness is not the place for Newbie's, sadly I can't think of a flat area suitable other than Tow paths ofcourse!!

Need to think of somewhere to take a girlie out soon though, any ideas ??
  • thanks for the ride muddypuddle, it was good.
i am goin to do a few rides with my fiancee to biuld her confidence and fittness so she can come up to the forest. :D
its all fun fun fun! when you play hard.

Reaper - if you are use to being paid weekly, then monthly can take a little getting use too, but at least you finish early, you could squeeze in some extra training for the stinger !

As it happens I went into the wyre last night . I could not make the morning ride as I was too tired and way too hungover..................and completed the caravan run, I took the wrong line and rode the one we did first last week.

I carried the bike back up and did the second one, the one that you did last week. But yes I did do it and I thought it was easier/smoother than the first.....but with the roots it would be fun in the wet...

The last line, the big one would be a different story I think, but I would like to get past the mental block of it though!

Sadly just riding :( Work in progress though check back for updates in @5years sadly :(

Caravan run the proper 1 higher up than I normally do I presume, remember it being smooth and fast and too easy haven't ridden it in years though.

Hey Moggy, going to try to fit 1 of those quality Fraen Reflectors into my main MC-E try to focus the light better and further.

    http://www.led-tech.de/en/High-Power-Su ... 6_110.html

Ordered a few of the weird 20mm optics, as there cheap might work better for the 400lumen MC-E drop in to, turn it into a L1 style beam maybe :)

OT, but any Wyre Forest locals heading out to Morzine/Les Gets for the last week of June?

3 of us are heading out on the 25th, doing the Passportes du Soleil on Sat 27th (we're starting from Morzine) and then returning on the 30th if anyone wants to meet up out there.

PM me if you're out there.

    Ben
Remember - a little adventure is good for you !

Up fort bill that week ben!

Was in the wyre last night on my own for 90 mins was lovely and dry and not as hot as it has been the last few nights.

For those who have ordered those $80 magicshine lightsets, i have got myself some thermal compound if anyone wants to borrow it , or for a small fee i can re bond the led for you as these are coming very poorly assembled, which will mean you dont get full power (for long anyway) and the led will degrade quicker.

Hi guys, i was in the forest last night with 2 of my mates, and we passed 4 guys riding the wide open section coming down from button oak heading the direction of dowles brook. One of the guys shouted "Evening", were they any of you lot on here? :?:

I usually ride the forest quite a lot mainly on a wednesday night parking up at button oak, or sunday's riding down the canal from kiddy to stourport, then up stagborough, through ribbsford woods, and up long bank to the forest. Thats normally very early though normally home by 10-11am.

Been riding the forest on mountain bikes for about 18 years now with a few years out for uni and mis-guidance!!

Would be nice to join up with some of u guys one weekend??

It's due to bucket down on Saturday most of the day so it's likely to be a mudfest in there on Sunday. It's due to rain on Sunday too, heavyish until 10am and then lighter onwards for the rest of the morning.

Happy to still go out as I like getting muddy

As for the girly ride - how about Sunday 12th July? It will be a gentle pootle along the fireroads and tracks, about 8 - 10 miles - there will be no singletrack unless the girlies would like to try some. My aim is to encourage the ladies to ride, not put them off and we will go at the pace of the slowest rider.

Mr Frosty - you're welcome to join us. We meet at the Duke William at 10am on Sundays.
  • i will most prob be riding sunday, the mud only makes things for fun
