Hello all, from the last thread, cunningly named "Anybody want to lose a stone by March?" i give you all this thread where you can (please) log what you've done up til now (from 1st jan) and your short/long term goals. If you're feeling particularly daring, you can enter your current (and starting) weight each week.
I nicked this idea from a climbing forum, and it seems to work quite well...

Thank you!

OK, so far i havnt done anything as ive been tucked up in bed with flu. On the plus side i now weigh 105kg which means i've lost 2 kg so ill use that as my starting weight.

STG: ride 100 miles + /week for next 4 weeks, stop snacking on crap, lose 6kg/1stone by march
LTG: not sure as yet will have to have a think, maybe hit 90kg

Make sure that you give yourself time to recover. If you start back too soon then you will not be doing yourself any favours

    Hmmm

    Starting Weight 14st 9

Not been on the scales yet this week, thats a Sunday morning 'joy' for me

Not been the most successfull start to be honest, have fallen into the shite shifts routine.

Done 1 5mile run (42mins - which is a bit slow for me)

and well thats it, got a 30mile (one way) commute tomorrow, spinning Tuesday morning and Weds probably a normal gym/swim session

Been working like a dog and so have neglected the 'healthy eating things. Mind you fish chips and curry sauce shamed me into a kickstart today and I have slaved in the kitchen sorting out 'lunch/dinner for the next 4 days (12- 2200 shifts so gotta stay out of the kebab hse!!!)

Hope your all doing better than me!!!

Start Weight - 91kg (Desire to lose at least 6)

    Goals -
Threshold power to weight ratio of 3 w/kg
Sub 25 minute 10 mile TT on the rolling Macc Wheelers circuit
Finish my first race in the bunch
102 mile Cheshire Cat (just to finish!!)
Sub 30 minute Cat and Fiddle hill climb

    Training -

I've just started using Trainingpeaks and a Powertap power meter. I'll paste what my 'virtual coach' tells me to do...

To the non power peeps 'CP' means critical power or the max power you can sustain for that time, e.g. CP6 is the max you can hold for 6 mins...

Mon 29th - Power profile test on trainer (1hr 35 mins on trainer. Wanted to puke)

Tue 30th - Tempo intervals. Road or trainer. Do 4-5 x 6 minutes at CP90 (2 minute recoveries). Relax! Smooth pedaling. 85-100 rpm. Aero. (1hr 12 mins on trainer)

Wed 31st - On flat road or on a trainer. Use the big chain ring and a gear that allows only about 50-60 rpm. While in the saddle drive the pedals down as hard as possible for 15-20 revolutions of the cranks. Do 6-10 of these starting a new one every 3-5 minutes after warming up. Heart rate is not observed. (1hr 10mins on trainer)

    Thurs 1st - FORM sprints. Warm up & do 6-8 x 8-12 second sprints at CP1. Slight downhill/tailwind. FORM! about 5 minute recoveries. NOT ALL-OUT. (1hr 18mins on road)

Fri 2nd - GYM - WU 5-10 minutes. Then 2 sets of SM weight lifting. First set is light (12 reps with 15RM load). Second set is heavy heavy (3-6 reps with 6RM load). CD 5-10 minutes spinning in easy gear/resistance at high rpm.
    Step ups -
    12 per leg x 35kg
    8 per leg x 50kg

    One armed Seated row -
    12 per arm x 22.5
    10 per arm x 30

    Abs - 1 min Power Plate x 2

    Hamstring curl -
    30 x 30kg
    30 x 35kg

    Lat pull down
    12 x 50kg
    6 x 70kg

GYM BIKE - After weights spin on rollers, stationary bike, or indoor trainer. Heart rate in 1 zone. Comfortably high rpm. Stretch after. (35 mins)

Sauturday 3rd - Ride on rolling course. Big chain ring. Power no greater than CP90. Mostly heart rate zones 2-3. Seated on most hills. (1hr 57 - Road - ended up pushing hard for the entire ride)

Sunday 4th Active Recovery ride - (1hr, road, bloody freezing, couldn't shift gear due to loss of feeling in hands after only 30 mins!!)

Mileage for week - 123 (intense!)

Starting weight: 93kg last week after my binge over christmas (that is embarrassing!)
    Weight this morning: 91.1kg

STG: 85kg by march, complete Cheshire Cat 102 miles
LTG: 80kg by July (no more, have been that light and my face looks really gaunt and my mum starts asking questions about how much I'm eating - I'm 6ft) finish the Etape. Will do a few other sportives in the build up to the Etape.

Week just gone - not too much cycling - 30 mins on rollers, 2 hours Friday, just over an hour yesterday plus an hour of pilates. I was hoping for my first 50miles of the year today but have you seen it out there???

Edited to add that my build is huge! I tend to put muscle on very easily, big shoulders, massive feet and hands (sound lovely don't I????  )

STG: down from current 95kgs to about 80kgs, do Cheshire Cat in under 4 hrs
LTG: get round DLMC & FW without stopping and for weight to hover 75kgs (I have Chris Hoy-esque thighs which aren't going to disappear!!)

    Height: 6'2", build - medium

    Activity - YTD:

    Fri 2nd - 20 mile M'cr - Lymm and back....gentel ride out with gf.
Sun 4th - Turned up for 9am run with Wheelers.....got dropped just out of Cheadle  so decided to do my own route...went Bramhall-Pott Shrigley-Kettleshulme-Whaley-chapel-Castleton - then quick stop for fuel and back along same route....so did Winnats from both sides 8) distance 62mile by home and in just under 5 hours.

Dont commute as yet or go to gym, so no more miles till Sunday now...but might try and squeeze a couple of evening runs in.

    Height 6' 1", starting weight 15 st 10 lbs (today) (1.86 m, 100 kg). Biggish medium build.

Weight goals: 14 st 10 lbs (93.5 kg) by start of March; 13 st 10 lbs (87 kg) by start of May; 12 st 10 lbs (80.5 kg) by start of July. Final target - probably about 12 st 8 lbs (79.5 kg), but reevaluate when I get close to that weight.

Fitness goals: Sort out my sore shoulder, neck and back so that they don't interfere with my cycling any more.

Various cycling goals, but let's just say: Do the West Yorkshire Cycle Route pain-free in one day at the end of June. That's 157 miles, ~12,000 ft of climbing (252 km, ~3750 m).

    PS

Thu Jan 1st - 45 mins on turbo (fairly vigorous)
Sat Jan 3rd - 45 mins on turbo (fairly vigorous)
Mon Jan 5th - 90 min hill walk (including some steep hills and 'power-walking')
