DDD, come on some of the planned RP/Surrey hills rides...
Sportives organisers tend to delight in putting in a few nasty hills. The best way to get better at climbing is to, wait for it, ride a lot of hills.

There's something very wrong with you...

Actually I'd love to do some hilly (ish) rides with people who can tell me what I should be doing to get up the damn things, as opposed to what I currently am doing.

You're right - I can't see any way around that.

Maybe I should get those aerobars I've been wondering about. Would they look silly on a FG with panniers? Do I care?

Errr, only if you buy the one piece carbon fibre ones, I'm pretty sure.

    And yes, you *should* care!

I plan on joining in on the RP/Surrey hills rides, to be honest I've been a little intimidated (I blame Greg66 he left me scarred). I know, I know MTFU.

On the topic of average speed. If I look at my cycle computer at the end of a journey it'll tell me an average of 12 - 13mph. On my entire comic collection I dispute the accuracy of this. In traffic there is go slow moments, filter through traffic moments, getting stuck behind slow moving vehicles etc.

Any time I'm really riding its 17mph and above until I'm tired.

But then this is what I mean by needing to test myself.

I believe Jen J has already proposed several SCR sportive hilly country rides including regular RP laps, sounds like the beginnings of a training plan.
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Is this Jen who fessed up to having done 16 marathons. I was pissed at this point so she could well have been talking about her dog but I think she said 16 marathons......

Yeah I want to go hill climbing with some whippet burd on a mental mission to swim to Mars and run back.

    Yeah, thanks for that. :?

I can't be the only person wondering why the front wheels are both pointing in the same direction. I think that's quite important, myself.

Or maybe, having looked at the last photo, you're talking about hanging from the ceiling then punching your meat?

Sounds a bit uncomfortable, not to mention of dubious training benefit

    Dear painted girl,

Body paint cannot withstand friction. Perhaps consider this next time.

    Yours sincerely
