I've just received a PM from TheGreatGatsby's sister in law, which is posted below.
From a personal standpoint, Mark was a great member, and I'm sure he'll be sorely missed. Rest in peace mate.
It is with a heavy heart, that I have to pass on some tragic news.
My brother-in-law, Mark - THEGREATGATSBY - was involved in an accident on his way home from work Friday evening. After valiant attempts to save his life, he died in hospital.
The Police are in the process of an on going investigation, and are appealing for more witnesses to the accident.
Mark loved this group, he was an active member of many 'Bike forums' but we know this was his first stop, morning and night.... After his beloved girlfriend, cycling was his passion (or obsession), we'd like to thank you for being such an important part of his life
In the coming weeks we hope to set up an account for charitable donations to "Livestrong- the Lance Armstrong Foundation". Details of which I will post at a later date.
Mark was a gifted, passionate and determined person... he will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
From a personal standpoint, Mark was a great member, and I'm sure he'll be sorely missed. Rest in peace mate.
