Would "Thats not dubstep" be too revealing a comment to make? At least I don't ride a fixie though :P

i'd agree with you on a lot of the album but there are a few wub-wub silly moments of the kind that usually spoil my bloc weekend. normally burial is about as dubsteppy as i'm prepared to go. and that's definitely not dubstep.

FWIW, Just looked Magnetic Man up and on their MySpace page, they appear to claim to be purveyors of dubstep. But then all these genres and sub-genres can all get a bit trainspotterish can't they.

Essentially, they're a way of putting records/CDs in racks.

Well now I'm confused. One minute you're at the bleeding edge of new music, then next you're asking who Arcade Fire are. I think they might even be on their third album by now. :D

Brill, FoS; Space Age Love Song was better though.

Heard Music by John Miles on the way in on Madely's show, and was transported back to about 1975 - fancying Susan S so much that it was a bit of a nuisance, the days of Supersonic where the bands used to get in the way of director / presenter Mike Mansfield showing off all his lovely cameras and his presentation gallery, and in a neat mental leap, recalling being given a copy of Rainbow Rising on cassette and hearing Stargazer for the first time ever, and not the last by a long chalk.

My dad installed the old family record player, 33, 45 and 78 speed settings - ahem

Somehow I got hold of copy of "I Surrender" and played it on repeat - for oh - three months...... as it was the only record I owned and..... it's fab.

That was in the commercial days of Rainbow though, Graham Bonnet doing the vocal duties. Stargazer was from an earlier time, the days of 11 minute album tracks, Ronnie James Dio doing his best [died recently too] and lyrics that really were complete pretentious cobblers. Happy days. :)

Today's Guilty Pleasure shall be I'm Mandy Fly Me by 10CC, that being the record I did buy instead of John Miles' record. 60p well spent.

    van halen :-)

probably not that guilty though as I could put an argument together for why they were ahead of the game compared to the other bands that were around at the time (especially in the early days)

I've jsut listened to 'All I want for Christmas is you' by Mariah Carey and I really enjoyed, it made me feel all festive inside.

I'm quite aware that it's not even December yet, but this year I'm rebelling and going to start early. Now then, where did I put that copy of Now that's What I Call Christmas......
