If I go for a curry will I be ordering my food in fear of everyone shouting "MTFU" if I don't order a vindaloo or some such volcanic concoction not suitable for normal human consumption?Food Chain number = 4

yep
Well what will you be ordering?
Me:
Chicken Biryani (sp) or Butter Chicken or Tikka Masala or Dansak if I have to
Accompanied by nan, rice (obviously unless biriyani which is a rice dish that usually come with a vege curry) and beer.
And now I'm hungry for a curry :-(Food Chain number = 4

Looking at the coaches from Brizzle and the pub is walkable from Victoria CS so good when I arrive but can see the trip back to VCS taking longer  If I can't get home when I arrive back in Brizzle at early o'clock I'll crash in Attica's office.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I'm glad I'm not the only non-Londoner planning to come - I didn't want to look too keen
As for my curry ordering plans, I could tell you, DDD, but then I'd have to kill youEmerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0 -
Bloody hell there are people who live outside of London coming to this thing, that's real dedication! You could make a Budweiser advert out of it.
I better wear my best lycra...Food Chain number = 4

I'm contemplating bringing my bike and riding to my sisters in Dorking after the curry.
Anybody want to advise me as to the wisdom of embarking on a 24 mile ride, on a route I don't know, with a few beverages inside me? Anybody heading that way?
Should I just MTFU and get on with it?"Impressive break"

You cycle to Waterloo, get on the train to Dorking and Robert's your mother's brother.
The A24 ain't great that time of night. Certain sections, I think, pass through unlit/heavily tree lined roads. I wouldn' recommend it.FCN 2-4.

I think everyone should have to wear their avatar as a badge. In the case of Linsen it'll have to be some sort of collage.
For a bit of extra Xmas fun, I propose everyone turns up in a beanie and we have to guess which one is LiT.0 -
In that case I've got my badge made already. For some after drinks fun, we could block book the rickshaws from Soho and have races around the streets of LondonI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Thanks CJ, I don't have a folder, is this going to be feasible/sensible? I have absolutely no experience of taking a bike on the train, going to feel a touch daft dressing up in lycra and leaving my bike at home 120 miles away!"Impressive break"

As far as I'm aware the rules for taking bikes on trains vary depending on the company but generally they don't allow bikes on trains during the rush hour times (7-9 & 16-18) and even then that's for trains terminating in London during the morning one and starting in London for the evening. Hence I think you should be OK heading out of London later in the evening. It would however be advisable to check with the train company tho.
I'm thinking that if I've had a little to much that I might just ride/walk upto Victoria and hop on a train to one of my local(ish) stations rather then navigate Brixton and Streatham at that time of night!
DDD, MTFU and get a Vindaloo with chilli naan! :twisted:0 -

Quite randomly, there is a road sign to Dorking at the end of my road. It's a quiet one way street, and Dorking is miles away, and there are plenty of bigger towns between where I am and Dorking, but someone obviously felt the need to highlight Dorking to people. No other places are on the sign, just Dorking.
Anyway. As you were...0 -

As BJUK says, you should be fine. The restrictions don't apply after 7-ish. Try the South West Trains' (or whichever operator it is) website.
I wouldn't feel daft; there are much stranger looking creatures on the trains.FCN 2-4.

That would be the non-cyclists! They are typically seen wearing rather drab looking suits and can be found with their heads buried in a copy of the Metro or London Life. They should be avoided at all costs.......0 -

Wow folks. Is there room for 19+ bikes outside the Morpeth? I think we're going to be double parked!
I reckon food at the pub is going to be the best option, 20 plus for the curry could be tricky...- 2023 Vielo V+1

Guess it will be first come **snigger** first served!
We might have to chain bikes to bikes tho?0 -
Well I will be wheel-less so that's one less to worry about....Emerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0

I'm sure we'll be able to work it out. When the lady sends over the food info we can ask her if we are allowed to bring bikes upstairs.
Or we could try and track her down this evening and ask. My theory is if we're paying for the room we can put bikes in it...0 -

Health and safety perhaps, hygiene (not that I agree with this arguement) for another - non-cyclist get uppity about bikes indoors I've found....
Probably won't be at the Mopeth toady after all.... a friend of mine is back from working on a cruise ship, goiing out to catch up with him.Food Chain number = 4

Travel options still to be sorted but I'll be there one way or another, might mean a long day riding too and from London on 44/16 :roll:I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Excellent!
Now we had 23 'yes' votes... where are the other two hiding? Hmmmmmm?
And Litts, of course we care. *pats litts on head in a patronising manner*0 -
Can somebody let me and others planning on bringing their partner(bike) to the party what the security is like at the Morpeth Arms. Have booked travel for us both but still not 100% about bringing BOOG.
Just used Gmaps for the route from Paddington and walking it says 1hr 7mins for the 3.3 miles  I reckon on about 50mins. Is Hyde Park lit at night? Looks like one option I've got is West Carriage Drive & Serpentine Road.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Phew that's just stupid, gmaps that is not you, I'll be coming into Paddington for the event, I work in London so know the route pretty well and the 2 miles from Paddington to my office in SoHo takes 7 mins lights/traffic permitting. Anyway why don't we meet up and cycle down together, the invite open to anyone else coming in from the 'Great West' - as for the Morpeth there are railings outside that we usually use, normal risks apply.
Plus you'll just love cycling around the west end - I advise soft drinks only on the train if it's your first timeRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -
I should be arriving into Paddington at 16:45 but the bike will be a last minute decision, all depends on my mood on the day, wether the weather will be OK and how much I want to imbibe.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

26 yes votes, only 21 on the list??
Also, Ruby and I can't get through to the Morpeth - they closed this week or something? Embankment peloton?0 -

Now if only we had someone who lived nearby who could check for us......0
