Really glad it's starting to come together for you Jamey.0

Thanks, me too. Feel like I'm on top of the maintenance and stuff for the first time, well, ever really.0

Wed 28 Jan 2009: Rear mech won't index properly but bike is rideable. Just annoying as every time you need to shift you have to change two gears and then back one. CDWP tally will not be reset but will be held at 29 until problem is fixed.0

Thu 29 Jan 2009: Both journeys fine apart from mech issue. CDWP held.
Fri 30 Jan 2009: Both journeys fine apart from mech issue. CDWP held.
Sat 31 Jan 2009: Did not ride.
Sun 01 Feb 2009: Did not ride but fixed rear mech with a new cable. CDWP tally will be updated with the days when it was held since this turned out to be a minor problem I was able to fix myself.

Tue 03 Feb 2009: Unable to get to work due to heavy snow.
Wed 04 Feb 2009: Both journeys fine, bike is running like a dream at the moment since sorting the gear problem. Extended journey home by a few miles to celebrate and because I felt guilty for not cycling the past two days. CDWP = 330 -

Eventually either you or your bike will die of natural causes.0

He said he'd stop if he gets to 50 days. I'm hoping he'll live longer than that!
I have to admit that I'm hoping the tally doesn't get reset, too.... :-)
Cheers,

it's going well Jamey - all that hassle and pessimism at the start, once your bike gets sorted problems become few and far between.0

Thu 26 Feb 2009: That ticking sound is back but bike is perfectly rideable. It's not cables this time, think it might be a little play in the front hub bearing but will investigate at the weekend. CDWP = 470

Had a couple of days off work for my birthday so today's my first day back at work this week and I haven't done the journey home yet. I always wait until I'm home (or sometimes until the next day if I'm busy in the evening) before posting to say the day's journeys were fine, or not, as the case may be.
If you're eagerly awaiting number 49 on the tally it'll get posted later tonight or mid-tomorrow (unless this jinxes it ) as I'm working lots of overtime this month.0 -
Jeez! It's a tense moment, I won't sleep too well tonight!
Actually, I think you should keep this going for a whole year, see what you get up to, work out miles per "breakdown", costs per mile etc. I'm not joking, I like following this thread!0 -
Unfortunately I haven't been counting how much I've spent on the bike since starting this and I haven't logged everything I've bought so I can't work it out, but I must confess I'd already been thinking of keeping the thread going just for general reference.0
