Nice buy, really like my mavics :D

@Christophe: very nice. It is for you, though, isn't it? ;)

Yeah, I know, I know... blasted things. :D All the comfy ones seem to be in white, all the black ones seem to have swathes of red on them, which clearly won't match my bike!

"Oi LiT, WATCH OUT FOR THAT SLIPPERLY SLOPE!"

Ah, too late. So whatcha tarting next?

    :lol::lol:

    Nothing!

Actually, I do like the idea of doing half my bar tape black and half orange though, orange on the drops where I don't put my hands much, black up to the hoods... or something... which would work well with some orange and black tyres...

    Nooooooo! Stop it!

    Aaaaaaagh I'm falling!!!! :D

    Anyhoo, whatcha speccing it with?

It was actually her idea. And she was in the bike shop whilst the deal was done. And kept asking about the price, and what difference DA would make for an extra £400 (plus nicer wheeels). So that'll be Ultegra then please. I'm keeping the Fulcrum 3s from the Madone, swapping the standard Aksiums over. I think I'll have the Michelin Pro 3s off it as well. Just need a girlie saddle a slightly shorter stem and some narrower bars, some flat pedals to get her going and she'll be fine :)

And ITB - you have quite enough bikes already

Christophe, I have a spare unused 40cm FSA Omega handlebar - it's the same bar as on my Focus, and only about £25 at Wiggle. I love it - it's got shallow drops and short reach, it's nicely shaped aluminium and despite its bargain price I'd get another in a flash. I have it spare as 40cm is just that bit too narrow for me. £15 plus postage and it's yours...

Keep the Fulcrums on the Madone, sell the Aksiums and put that money to upgrading the wheels for you. Then you have two sets of racier wheels.

Thanks I'll let you know on this - I've ordered 40cm bars and Prologue are swapping them over, so looks like we should be OK for bars.

@ CJCP - stop it. I've just got away with splashing the best part of £2K. I have promised faithfully not to spend any more money on bikes ever. So obviously I'll be keeping that promise.

Have you had a knock on the head or something, how can anyone have too many bikes!?! and flat pedals on a Madone? for the love of God man nooooooooooo!!!!! that would be like fitting LiT Viner with a giant sprung Brooks saddle

Also if you have Fulcrums on the Madone currently doesn't that mean your running campy groupset as well?

This is all very confusing :?

Errm. Well some of them might be...

And flat pedals are only temporary. Small steps and all that.... :) It could have been much worse...

Yes, the fulcrums are shimano compatible. And they look better on the new bike, which is a better ride than I thought it would be, (although only a few laps of RP so far). No frame flex as far as I can tell and went round anti clockwise on the big ring. But not clockwise, obviously :)

Now I just need to get the boy a road bike and we're there... Isla bikes seems to be the best bet, unless anyone has any other ideas?

Wow this thread is a little slow these days, lets see if I can do something about that.

Having just received a call from the PM it seems the economy needs a little help getting back on it's feet, to this end I have officially suspended my current period of semi spending retirement to return to the beautiful game we call SCR, having had plenty of time to consider my awesome budget forecast and economic kickstart 5 year totally credit plan I've decided to start by covering all available space in my house with expensive Carbon & Ti cycle bikes and parts.

    Let the shopping commence

And can you post a picture of the huge house that the owner of your LBS lives in? With an arrow pointing at it, and "I could have bought this" scrawled on the picture in your handwriting? :D:D:D
