  • LiT - has n't the time for gloves past?? It's lovely out there now.

Yep, and the time for winter boots. I'm going to put the gloves in the boots and pop them in the wardrobe for cold weather.

Commuted in birkenstocks today. Spring is here.

I was in full kit yesterday and nearly passed out with the heat on the way home... dropped to 3/4's and smaller gloves and normal shoes

    One of these:

The old one was sporting crash damage and will replace the awful Selle Italia on the winter/turbo bike.
  • Definitely a decidedly more spring-like today, hope it's not a false start! But just to be sure, these arrived earlier in the week, a real bargain;

My old Raleigh ones disintegrated just before the last spell of wet weather, but not bad going for 8 1/2 years' use, I guess! They're more of an 'outdoors' retailer than a bike one, but for value and promptness of arrival, I'd recommend giving Winfields a try for waterproofs if nothing else.

50 prs of latex gloves for working on the bike in the lounge, cheaper on Ebay than the local places where I could buy them over the counter.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Judging by the way chainsets and pedals appearto have increased in price, you're not far wrong!

Does the RLV include much footage riding along the valley before the climb starts? Whenever I've been in serious mountains, I've always found that part of the ride - the lull before the storm - to be one of the most memorable parts of the ride.

My new 12-25 cassette arrived. Woo-hoo for me.

Well Ventoux isn't exactly on my doorstep old chap!

It's either that or brave the cold, dark and red light covered roads of London during rush hour.

Oh and Greg. No idea what the RLV features, it arrived today - been on order for sodding ages! Hang on, Box says:

"The full 110k starts 37km south east of the main climb in the... village of Sault, via the Gorges du Nesque."

Gonna tackle the climb itself tonight. Commute home will be a warm-up.

I'm thinking of offering odds on Jash posting tomorrow something along the lines of "hmm, that Ventoux software must have been faulty, it was far harder than it should have been, maybe the turbo needs oiling or something" - what do people reckon?

I'm not doing the 110k! Just the climb (or part of the climb!)

    Heads up people

GB cycles is selling Campy chain sets for peanuts. 10sp record doubles for £60
    some 9sp kit from £20, 10sp triples from £50 what a bargain.
