I'll have to get over to sherwood pines some time soon, I'd like to check it out, looks like it could be a fast place to ride during the summer. I have a GPS route of the new xc course, before all the signs got nicked :x I've also got a few longer routes around sherwood forest.

Was out on Saturday for a 50 mile xc ride around Binbrook, nice and hilly  weather was great but the mud was something else  in some places I had to get off and drag the bike(too heavy to carry) as the wheels and frame were compleatly clogged i.e. no tyres & spokes visable!! Reckon I'll miss out those places next time out.

Well...you certainly get the miles in but its no fun if you cant even see your own spokes tho!!!!

Yeah...the mud up there is...special  But when it drys out and you get to stick on some nice light tyres it's great. I had some great T-shirt rides up there last year when it was dry & dusty with clear blue skies and no wind.

It's days like that when you feel like you can ride all day for miles. It's thinking about rides like that that keeps me slogging on through the mud, certainly makes you fitter.

Anyone been getting out and about around the Lincolnshire Wolds lately, spotted quite a few riders over the last few weeks.

If any body fancies a riding partner for the odd epic around those parts give me a shout. It would be interesting to share routes and ride some different parts for a change.

    :D

Pity, the riding has been great over the last few weeks  even got the summer tyres on now and there has defiantly been dust

Reckon I'll have another go at the Bicyclemania challenge, although I'm a bit reluctant to book anymore events at the moment as I'm in between jobs and hopefully if I get my new job it involves working shifts. Should all be done dusted by July, I hope anyway.

I'm down riding the HoNC this weekend and I'd really like to try the e2e over on the Isle of Man later in the year, but I'll have to hold off on that for a while.

I've ridden the bicyclemania route, and parts of it dozens of times and there's some good riding.

i live in grimsby :D woop....wich is just next to the wolds....i usually just link up bridleways to create loops...or sometimes just do loops in different woods (if i get bored of the bridleways)....there is actually alot of fun to be had riding in the wolds...like today i spent two hour riding the same route just perfecting lines etc in wold newton ,thers lots of potential but not enough people to ride them to make them better...anyone got any suggestions for new routes????
up, up, up, down, up, up, down, up, dowwwn...yep sounds good to me :)

Was anybody out this afternoon around Wold Newton?

Did see one biker out possibly on a Marin hardtail , I was with a mate (Orange 5 & Commencal Meta)

If you've lost a water bottle I've got it.

tomxc, I usualy ride on the west side of the Wolds, Binbrook area. Plenty of good loops around there, quite a lot of hills too

Was out today after lunch, planned on doing around 40 miles but abandoned the route and headed back after about 25 miles, freezing, p*****g down, fecking unbelivable wind, summer

if any of you live in grimsby, ther is some quite good riding(well its ok) around weelsby woods...i usually go there evry other day for at least an hour, its good wile its dry, but when it gets wet it can be annoying, but its good to get out practicing when you really cant be bothered to go on epic rides :P

Wold Newton is good - although to make it more than 7 or so miles requires some linking on roads.

Also do Market Rasen (try out the downhill on Hamilton Hill - www.trailblazerz.net) and then take some of the bridleways out (much of this is the bicycle mania route)

Nearer to Louth, there are some good routes around Tetford, Tathwell, Belchford and out from louth itself along the railway line (the one near the Horncastle road, not the one through the industrial estate). All of these can be linked in various ways to make much longer rides.

Also do some stuff around Binbrook, as has been mentioned.

Have memory map routes of all these if people are interested. Ought to get 'em posted up on a website really!

Tend to ride weds evenings, and Sunday mornings - usually just 10-20 miles as time is short.

I live just outside Grimsby, near Ulceby, we tend to go up on the wolds around Rothwell, but if your thinking of starting a club, I would be intrested. You can see some of my routes on http://www.gps-sport.net/users/nuttygt4 you will have to go back to last year on the calender as I haven't been up there this year yet, although that should change in the next few weeks.

I live in Louth and there are some great routes out towards the back of Hubbards Hills.

Really good 20 & 30 mile + routes and you can create some good loops. Hop over the old railway & head out towards Donnington on Bain, Thathwell, Belchford. IWe did Dalby Forest last Sunday and I used to really slag LIncs off for being so flat, but honestly, there is some fantastic riding to be done.
