I'm Chris 36 nearly 37 years old  . This is a pic of me and the wife in lyme regis this summer. My mate and myself ride down every summer and meet the other halves for a holiday.[img][/img]Image032.jpgThis is my bike, Caccondale carbon rush 4. Pretty standard at the moment although it has got Richey carbon bars, carbon cage and nobby nics fitted since this photo was taken.[img][/img]Image005.jpg Happy new year everyone. :D

  • Marvintheandroid here, named after the terminally depressed robot of hitchhiker fame. It would have been a different story if he'd had a bike....

I ride in Forest of Dean, mixed forest tracks and fire roads, some woods and hills. I mostly ride at night in the Winter months. I have also done Cwmcarn a couple of times last summer. What a lark.

    Here are some piccies :

The bike is a 2006 Trek 8000 hardtail with the excellent ZR9000 aluminium frame and RS Reba fork. Cost me 800 squid new, list was £1100. Bargain. Mods since new include : Fork travel increased from 80 to 100mm, handlebar changed to Bonti Xlite carbon low riser, 10mm shorter Bonti stem fitted, tyres changed to MudX (since photos), Crud race pack fitted, front disk uprated to 180mm, grips changed to ODI Yeti lock-ons, Rollamajig. Lights are Ay-Up MTB kit with Blackburn Mars 3 on rear.

Weak spots - hubs and spoke nipples.

    Love it.

Hi, my name is Soggz, i live near centre parcs near Warminster in Somerset.I've been mountain biking now for over 15 + years.I started on an old secondhand Raliegh Mustang!
I've had 4 GT's since then and i am now on my 5th! I stopped mountain bike riding about 3 years ago properly, as i started my own business, so i never had time what with that and 2 children! I am starting it up again this year and went for my first ride yesterday! I was suprised how well i got on!.I am taking it easy as i broke my arm last April and ended up with 2 plates and 11 screws in it! ( i fell off of my 96 Pantera!), so i am returning 'gingerly' to it again.

names cris. Im 37 from glasgow. been riding for years, both mtb and bmx , but a crash and a snapped Orange a couple of years ago put me out of the game. lack of funds was the main reason for this, but ive got back into it with the cycle to work scheme. I only got £500 so I bought a Carrera Banshee coz its a decent (if heavy) frame and can be upgraded without too much risk of it snapping in two.

so far ive put new wheels and a fox air rear shock on it and its a totally different bike to the one i rode out of the shop. before the back end felt like it was being dragged along on a space hopper because the standard shock was so utterly terrible.

next upgrade is some new forks, although trying to find ltriple clamp forks with a QR these days is proving difficult, then a new part every payday until ive got it rideable.

i ride what gets called freeride these days, which is to say I try to fit a bit of swoopy tails, fast DH, some techy stuff and at least one or two drops/gaps into every days riding.

    Hi,

My name's Theo (not Miss Marple  )

I'm 17 and I've been cycling for a number of years, always used the GT or Carrera range.
From Beckenham and currently in PPL training and hope to complete Professional Pilot Training in around 3 years time.

Sadly I have no mountain biking photos, but here is me "enjoying" a fancy dress doo:

my brand new shiny banshee. Im still not 100% on it. the wheelbase is longer than my last bike (orange UFO) and so its not a good climber and its hard to hop it up kerbs and so on. I suppose i will get used to that in time though. Ive already changed the rear shock (fox air) and wheel, put better pedals on (v8] and now Im looking for a set of 2002ish JR T forks. i will buy a new, to me at least, part for the driverain every payday until I have the same spec I had before (xt and lx mix). i wish it would stop raining so I could take it up the hills and give a decent thrashing and see how it handles at speed over rough ground.

I think some 160mm travel ish single crowns will be better suited to your bike JC.
