No you nee a cape. It's illegal to challenge "yooves" without a cape.

It would be cool to have a cape.

    Nice one though.

Much better ride in this morning, my legs were feeling much easier unlike yesterday which was a struggle - not helped by a lady overtaking me when I was doing 30 downhill, she was braking and indicating left as she was passing me, giving me just enough warning to avoid her left hook.

Passed a few cyclists en route in and did my good deed for the day, moving 2 geese off the road back onto Roath Park Lake where they belong. Of course the drivers of the 15 or 20 cars that had stopped wouldn't get off their lazy backsides to do anything - I'm sure they'd have waited all day!

My 4th day of commuting and finally some SCR action!!!

On the way home tonight I was cruising down a residential road when up ahead I spy a cyclist a.k.a. 'target'. I up my speed, quick look over my shoulder and power past, leaving nothing but destruction in my wake.

ok so it was a kid on a bike with stabilisers but i still owned her!! 8)

    A scalp is a scalp. :)

Broke a dossard on Sawyer's Hill in the Park tonight. I heard a slight crack and suddenly, he was gone.

Riding home tonight was not enjoyable.

Scalp intact, but (a) I'm just plain knackered; (b) the bike feels "tight" - maybe the wheel hubs need some lube (yeah, right - see point (a) above for the fix); (c) it's blowing a gale in every fecking direction at once, except from behind me; (d) I'm fed up riding under grey clouds and in blustery wind.

Now I'm pretty sure in April/May we were being told that this would be a totally scorchio summer. Bzzzzzt! No prize for you Mr. Weatherforecaster. Perhaps you can go back to predicting global warming. Or a new ice age. Or something that you won't be rumbled over within three months.

When will it get easy again? :(

Gotta admit, Millbank was a genuine Wall of Wind tonight. Just befoe you reach Millbank Tower: WHOOMP! Spittle and snottle was flowing by the time I crested Col de Putney Bridge this evening. I was knackered.

What a strange thing to say. We've had a better than average summer so far!

Riding home was a bit tough, but I rather enjoyed it. I've got scarily addicted to riding recently...

I had work drinks this evening... I barely noticed the headwind after a few beers, but there was some serious rain about!

Last commute for some time tomorrow!

It certainly did appear to be a bit blowy last night! As G66 said it seemed to come from every direction except behind you no matter which way you headed!!

Anyhow setting off from work I think I just missed GregT, saw him whipping round the roundabout at Westferry Circus and set off to chase him down but he got through the lights at the bottom of the ramp and I got stopped......

No scalps of note on last nights ride but I did spot an interesting rider in Camberwell, I saw him first when I was waiting to join at Albany Road as he rode past appearing he was going to be jousting! He was carrying a roll of carpet or paper about 2m long underneath his arm  I thought he must me mad as it's not the best section of road to ride along with 1 arm due to the numerous pothole and typical London drivers. It wasn't however until I came to overtake him a bit further up when I noticed we was riding a SS!!! Mentalist I tell ya :o

last night the wind was a sod, luckily me and a shaved roadie teamed up and made good headway through it... he spoke to me after I near spat on him I immediately apologised once I realised it was near him.. didn't get him though.. upped my speed by about 5mph thankfully

I was wondering the same thing...

Hilarious SCR incident with a car in RP this morning. Cruising down the gentle hill towards Roehampton gate at around 25; car comes up behind me and tries to overtake. Speed limit in RP is 20 and I'm not going to be scalped without putting up a fight, so I up the tempo. Woman in the car pulls alongside, but because I'm now doing 30 and still accelerating (on the road bike today) she's not going to have time to get past before we meet traffic coming the other way. Rather than giving up, she now starts hooting and gesticulating for me to slow down! In the end she scraped past me and zoomed off towards Barnes, at what must have been at least twice the speed limit, but the moral victory was mine...

Yes very empty on the roads today. Maybe everyone’s got that Friday feelin and heading to the pub after work so left the bike at home. Come on people, don’t you know you can legally ride a bike home from the pub drunk.

Swift this morning. Unfortunately I forgot to reset my comp after a pootle to the LBS last night (purchased my first item of lyca  ... when the wife sees them in the wash I'm a dead man). And for once the wind is due to drop off by the home run.

I think I saw the remnants of some bike on bike action last night in the park. Couple of roadies looked like they had hit each other on the roundabout by Roehampton Gate. All was in hand though.

Didn't even appear to be that many cars, I normally get held up in traffic a bit more.

    Except upper street. Absolute carnage.

And someone should really teach motorcyclists not to block up gaps that they clearly can't get through. Grr.

Yeah, had an incident with a car at Kingston Gate roundabout. Car (driven by someone who must have 12) mounted the cobbled roundabout because he overtook me too late/close to it. I overtook him at the Gate, about 100 yards later. Some people are hopelessly stupid when they drive.

The boffins at Game labs have been experimenting with nuclear weapons deployed in the direct obstacle clearing mode for some time.

Lower Thames St has been used as the test area as any rider who rode it before it's partial resurfacing could tell you - if their bollocks hadn't been rammed into their throats by their seat post.

To be fair the blast radius of even a small tactical device is several kilometers - you do however get a killer "pro cyclist" tan - however your kit does melt on your skin.

Yeah, I don't know if it was the new chain I fitted last night, or the early night I got, or a combination of the two, but I was feeling great this morning!

Also, the sun was shining, which doesn't hurt. :D

Scalped a fakenger fellow, little cap with a stripe on, rolled up jeans and everything - I had 2 panniers... bwahahaha etc.

London was like the marie celeste as far as bikes go, however it seems possible that everyone may have taken their cars...

Bit late this one, but better late than never.

Pretty sure I saw Rob Hayles in Richmond Park a couple of weeks back on my way home. He was in his Halfords kit. Unfortunately, I was unable to appear all cool and brilliant: I had just arrived at the top of Broomfield Hill, on a Friday evening, with a heavy backpack. I had wiped the sweat just in time to see.

I should have turned round and scalped him. (Yeah, like that was ever going to happen.)
