Sounds great CJ - either would be fine but I don't get home from work on Saturday until 6:45pm. Sunday morning would be better if possible.

Cool. Will drop you a line closer to the time.

    Hello everyone

I'm new. I cycle most weekdays from Ham gate in Richmond Park to work just opposite Charring Cross. This game is brilliant.

My bike is a Dolan Mythos and the calculator says my FCN is 5.

    Hopefully see you later!

Excellent. Where do you go after RP? I go out Roehampton gate, across Putney Bridge then usually along Kings Road to Sloane Square.

Sometimes Embankment if I can't face all the the zebra crossings on Kings Road.

Same as you, except I never venture down the King's Road; always onto Embankment.

I've seen a couple of Dolans. What time do you usually head out of Roehampton Gate?

Can we talk about nemesisses*? I met my old touring guy going the other way, and he totally blew me off again. He had on leather brogues, flatty pedals, normal trousers...

Goddamn it all to hell and back.

    TO HELL I say!

Grrr..... my absolute fastest run home and traffic ruined any chance of a PB.

Neh mind. I ploughed through innumberable commuters today - there were dozens around the centre of Derby... including this rather rotund gentleman on a Scaffold Special who took GREAT offense at me swishing past as we started off at the lights.

I just pootled up to the next set of red lights and he went past with his little legs a blur and doing an amazing impersonation of a steam train, right before diving off to the left down a side road.

Aaaaanyway... tuesday night while going through lthe last village afore mine, I topped out at 25 and bit (while shouting at a woman in a Rover to get a move on), last night I was amazed to see 28.5 on the same stretch.

Tonight - for the first time in as long as I can remember I was officially speeding with 31.5mph showing on the computer while in a 30.

I felt sooooo rebellious! and I still wasn't in top gear (did it on 32c tyres with a 50/12 gearing)

It's not often that I get anything I can call a scalp as I usually have a fairly low FCN, however today I bagged two shaved (like a laydee) roadies . All the more satisfying as I was on my rigid MTB (suntour gears mmmmm nice) with CF Y-large trailer and 30 kgs of food and beer. The second chap was using aero bars.
    THat's what I call scalping.

    Good effort Kieran!

As for me, I'm in work until 9pm  (twiddling thumbs)...before the fun begins :)

What a beautiful evening. Was cruising at 25-26mph and 30s were obtained with relative ease: oh, blessed tailwind :D

Just past chutney marys. Almost passed my do they know what they're doing test but asked anyway. Chain was stuck between cassette and spokes possibly caused by a bent rear mech hanger. Freed it with a great piece of manual dexterity*. Passed on a few tips; recommended Prologue Bikes for servicing and this very website for banter. 8)

    Yuk.

I was forced to pootle today. The thighs hurt, a shocking night's sleep (again), dodgy stomach and, as a result, nothing in the tank. I let two roadies pass me and didn't even attempt to pass a fast moving tourer with pannier.

The only good thing was that there seemed to be very little bike traffic. If there's more out on the road tonight, I'm going to be scalped all over the show because its going to be more pootling tonight.

Does anyone know why the traffic in South London was so bad this morning. I chose to time my ride properly for the first time hoping it would come in under an hour, but becasue of all jams i ended up taking an hour and ten minutes, and that doesn't include all the time i just couldn;t move at all.

Must have migrated from the North side because it was better this morning.
