Know that junction well - just coming up to Stockwell on the A3. Horrendous driving round there in general, lost count of the number of times that exact same thing happened to me when I used to commute that way. It's just before the place the video that went viral last year of that lunatic driving at cyclists was taken. Definitely a nasty part of any commute on the A3 - probably third only to Tooting High St and Balham Hill
That was my mate Nick that filmed that.

Shit.
How sad.0 -
yeah, fraid so.
The reason I am riding Flanders this year with fifteen others is that we were all riding buddies of Nick and many of us rode the Cingles du Ventoux with him in June for his 50th birthday. I also only rode Flanders last year cos Nick persuaded me to do it. I wasn't keen beforehand but I ended up loving it.
That's also one of the reasons we ordered the kit I posted on here earlier this week.FCN = 40 -

Are you doing it for charity or is it just in memory of Nick?
If for charity, and you want to share the details, i'd be happy to donate, maybe others on here also.0 -
Trainw@nkered today due to a saddle sore.
Jealous of you. All of you.0 -
Lovely morning for a spin. A few little efforts to hit green lights, but mainly I did enough to stay ahead of the pack and enjoyed the sunshine. Long may it continue.0

Beautifully spring like this morning.
Had a chat this morning with a guy who I see regularly on a lovely 1980's Geoff Wiles steel framed bike. He wasn't riding it this morning, but was on his modern Pacenti instead. Turns out that a Merc pulled out on him last month on the Embankment, and he went over the bonnet. He wasn't too badly hurt, but his bike was mangled. Such a shame, as he only had it re-enameled last summer. He's currently looking at whether to get the downtube replaced.

I just caught you at the top of Balham, had my house mate in tow so I eased off again to let him catch up before we turned off. So, hi! Also realised I have ridden with you a few times recently but I failed to recognise your bike without mudguards :roll:0 -

Were you on your hi-viz cross bike today? If so, I did clock you at Tooting Bec chatting to someone at the lights, presumably your house mate.
Did we also exchange a couple of words a week or two ago after a guy walked out into the road in Tooting one evening and I shouted at him?0 -

Yeah that was me, usually on either that (Fuji) or a white/black/red Cube. Yeah I think we did, I think you also shouted at a motorbiker a few weeks ago for me after he cut me up in the wet (I was busy in oh sh** mode) Thanks for both!
..actually if I remember correctly the first time I met you was after you had a word with a lady in a Yaris (or similar) for some maneuver that almost took me out. Good to know Hopkins is on duty on the CS70 -
Traffic reports saying all approaches to Parlt Square are currently blocked due to Brexit demonstrations.
Forcing me out of the EU is one thing, but forcing me south of the river so early in my commute is the final straw.FCN 2-4.

Perhaps those of us on the diversion south should put together an impromptu chain-gang. Safety in numbers and all that.0 -
South of the river? Jeez. Someone had better send me a general route to follow or alternatively send a search party to find me in the early hours of the morning............0

CS7 to Clapham Common - turn right. A3 into Wandsworth, fork right onto A205, past East Putney Tube - onto Upper Richmond Road, which should land you in familiar territory. Watch out for dragons.0 -

A cold chill just ran down my spine. You'll be mentioning places like Earlsfield and Wimbledon next.
Do not.
Like.

This. I need CJ there so the dragon will catch him first...0 -

You and your bear paws trying to work out how to post stuff?
If anyone's doing their bit as human chaff today, it's you, my boy. Since you're weighing in at more than a baby rhino, you can go first.FCN 2-4.

That wouldn't be fair on the dragon, or for you lot trying to keep up0

Looking at the pics from the Beeb, it seems like a quick left over Westminster Bridge, followed by a cheeky right to Lambeth Bridge, and back over to the safety of the Embankment should be enough to get round the Brexiteers, whilst minimising the possibility of a Dragon attack.1938 Hobbs Tandem

Wait, I thought there was 1 million of them, plus the emergency services and armed forces required to contain their wrath?
I voted leave at lunch time to avoid them.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Erm, it would appear someone has been stabbed to death outside Clapham Common tube this afternoon, so you embankment types might want to take your chances with the Brexiters...0

I rode past that earlier. The only place I've ever seen roads taped off and closed like a crime scene whilst commuting is along clapham common, multiple times in just the last 6 months. I had a friend who lived there and moved out when police taped off the entrance to his flat after someone had been firing an automatic weapon outside it. I know it has it's nice spots but I think it's less safe than it appears on the surface.0 -
Managed to get through PS without a problem on Friday evening, albeit wheeling my bike. Lots of p*ssed up blokes being aggressive towards the police protecting parliament, and quite a few other people who just seemed generally angry about life, but a great deal fewer than were in the square during the march last Saturday.
Really looking forward to cycling home without lights for the first time this year this afternoon.1938 Hobbs Tandem
