Colleagues asking me things and not getting the answer they want, so keep asking the same question and expecting a different answer. Up to the 3rd time so far.
    Update: 4th time.

    What is the question?

Two days off work so went out today for a leisurely 25 mile ride which was spoiled by two things. The coffee shop didn' have any carrot cake and the idiot in the car who had plenty of time to overtake and turn left so that it wasn't a left hook turned it into a left hook by stopping mid turn as I was halfway up a hill and lost the speed I'd built up.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Getting a bit fucking fed up with Strava Summit (which I'm not paying for) telling me that my efforts are easier than usual when I'm actually working really hard out there.

Massive ride over Easter plus food poisoning has left the legs empty.

Ha! I'm not ranting about it but i was surprised when this started popping up on Strava earlier this week for me. First off thought was 'well, I haven't ridden for a while, perhaps it knows' but i soon realised it was just the old reverse psychology spin on advertising and now ignore it.

managed to revive an old knee injury (lateral ligament) slipping down some steps yesterday. left foot ended up at the bottom and right foot stayed at the top, getting plenty of twisting force and all my weight. trying to do the sensible thing and stay off bikes for a while.

true surely - while you're on your bike there's no twisting. It's safer by far.

Steps should be safe enough if you ride down them (and keep your weight back, obviously).

Went for a quick reliability ride on Sunday to make sure all my gearing changes were functional.

Everything was perfect but there was an annoying rattle I couldn't find until halfway through the ride; it was one of the saddle clamp bolts from the top of the seatpost. The nut was missing and it was only my saddle roll stopping the bolt falling out.

Now I'm at the mercy of Canyon's crack team of Customer Service Sloths who have so far failed to respond to an email to Germany (no bank holiday), their speedy chat agents asked me to send an email and the auto response to the email asked me if I had tried the chat service for a quicker response.

    This is probably a repeat...
Cars that are happy to significantly break the speed limit to get ahead of you when cycling, then stop dead in front of you for a gentle speed bump.
I like my disc brakes and grippy tyres though.

Co worker with cold like symptoms for weeks and weeks and weeks now, given me headcold symptoms for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.
I'm on tablets that are probably making me more susceptible but when is enough , enough?

You don't want to hear this, but it's unlikely that the same person has given you the same illness twice. If you had caught and fought off the illness the first time, you shouldn't get the same strain again.

Why the f*ck would you have a mechanically actuated disc brake'd bike without cable tension adjusters? What frigging madness.
Just realised this after replacing the pads last week and not quite liking the new bite point.

Rear's got one fitted, but the front doesn't.

FFS. According to the manufacturer, it should have had one. I guess that's back to the LBS that built it then :(.

Or just wait until I can fit the giant hydraulics that should be here soon, and put up with fiddling it like I did last time without thinking.

Oh my word, DPD really are a useless bunch of fuckwits.

Driver erroneously marks on thursday my parcel as delivered.

Gets scanned at the depot on Friday.

Gets scanned at the depot this morning.

No idea if they tried to deliver it on Friday. Can't tell it to do anything with the parcel because it's still marked as delivered, still, despite the three calls I've now made.

Person I phoned this morning said they can't call the depot yet as it's closed.

Its 9 am, and on their website they list the depot as open at 8am.

    FFS

And the depot is 20 miles away. Don't fancy a 40 mile round trip to be turned away because it's still on the van or similar such stupidity.

I can't seem to get lubing with squirt right, and some of the cogs end up being _very_ noisy. I've never had that issue with any other lube before, so there is some incompatibility with how I apply it and how it is meant to be.

Got a letter back from the police about the guy that knocked me off back in February.

I told them when I reported it that the insurance company had confirmed that he was not insured to drive the vehicle, and it belonged to his sister in law.

They responded that there was nothing to investigate, but I was welcome to raise a civil case.

    Cheers guys!

Absolutely right - they don't need to investigate - just prosecute - for driving without insurance - which is illegal in this country.... ffs - it's not rocket science ...

I believe this is technically incorrect. Check legal advice on this, but I believe you should respond and tell them that, as a crime has been committed (for which you and your insurance company have and can provide proof), it is their functional duty to investigate it. Pretty certain cannot raise a civil case for a crime until after the Police have investigated (and, I believe closed) a criminal case, or any criminal proceedings which may arise as a result of those investigations have been concluded.

Sounds to me like they're just palming you off in the hope you'll go away (I suspect many people would)

They're not taking the issue of driving w/out insurance any further? What on earth?

Is there a complaints procedure mentioned in their letter? To the IPCC perhaps?

Must remember to tell family/friends not to name me on their insurance nd there by possibly save some cash, but let me drive their cars, because the police think that's absolutely fine!
