Might as well be, if 'leave' wins!

I am a financial analyst, and I work for an asset management company. However the poll goes, we are expecting large market/currency moves on Friday, as the financial markets react to the result. We're therefore staffing the office overnight to deal with the currency side of things (as currency markets don't close). Other staff are expected to be in at 6am to prepare before debt/equity markets open, as trades will need to be constructed to hedge out the impact of expected moves in these markets.

I don't work in finance or anything like it, but we sell a lot into Europe and a lot of our customers are already nervous. I think there will be a lot of questions we won't know the answer to if Leave win. And I might get myself an Italian passport.

They have some bets that make money if the pound goes up and some that would lose. They don't want to be at the mercy of these movements so they'll make some more bets to aim to be as unaffected as possible by the inevitable shitstorm that'll occur.

Inch close pass knocks me off balance, i just about recover with a quick unclip. Catch up with him and receive a torrent of abuse, "you pay no f'ing road tax!", "you shouldn't be on the f'ing road!", "you aint no f'ing boris!" before threatening to get out of the van and "kick my f'ing head in" and "kill you", when i asked him for his details. This is on a 20 mph stretch of road and I was doing 22. I sincerely hope the karma catches up with him, cancer perhaps.

Enjoying a tailwind up Westferry Rd on the Isle of Dogs, 24mph or so, motorized traffic speed limit is 20mph, coming up to a set of traffic islands in the middle of the road and a double decker bus attempts to overtake me with a speed differential of about 2mph. I have to slam on to a virtual halt as the bus swerves back in to miss the island, missing me by less than a bike length. Unbelievable. Give bus driver an ear bashing at the next stop and he said it was my fault for riding too fast. Complaint to TfL going in, suspect it'll be routed to their usual /dev/null department.

Encouraged my son to enter the London Nocturne prize draw competition, thinking if he wins the JLT Condor kit would look good on me. He's won! He thinks the kit will look good on him :-(

Yesterday - on my way home - an "on time" posh-car delivery lorry approaches from behind - waits for a clear stretch (good so far) then overtakes with plenty of room ... to start with ... then nearly squeezes me out with his trailer ...

and it was going so well ... :(

why is it you are always just too far from home to turn around when you pick up a niggle with your bike or remember things you needed.

riding along today, start thinking wow Im really having to work hard and stretch for these pedals and its beginning to hurt, my saddle is set way too high,I need to fix that when I get to...oh shazbot I forgot to move my saddle bag with the toolkit from the non commute bike on to this bike so Im stuck with it as it is  ...and oh nuts I forgot my purse too so Ive got no money or means to get money for lunch  (I borrowed a fiver from a colleague in the end)...at this stage Im wondering if I even forgot to close the front door or left the gas hob on...but get closer to work start hearing a clanking noise,ok that doesnt sound good at all whats that? look down the front wheel and the brake pads are wobbling and loose  and Ive no means to fix them other than finger tight turns which remarkably held though I was shifting my brake bias to the rear alot.

    Ive had better commutes :|

Rear mech has been bent slightly for a while. Haven't got around to fixing it yet. This morning rear derailleur acting very badly getting close to being pulled up into cassette apart from in easiest gears so has to spin in with a low top speed.
Got a spare one but need to buy some more. Planet X haven't any xls ones in stock..

I do for each type of bike - two road bikes share a saddle bag and I have 2 bike pumps across 5 bikes (one is a TT bike) - but I still have minor spares at work - PITA if you get punctures on your way in and then have no spares for your return ...

I normally run with two spares and a repair kit. Can fix puncture in lunch break.

Can't remember much about it but am walking around with very sore shoulder as I am not even pro enough to break it. Did it outside a health centre so dreading going back to find out damage to bike

Owch, get well soon. Not what you want ever, especially on your sons birthday!
Sounds like the driver stopped and is apologetic, hope it all gets addressed speedily.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.
    Bike 1 (Broken) - Bike 2(Borked) - Bike 3(broken spokes) - Bike 4( Needs Work) - Bike 5 (in bits) - Bike 6* ...

Thanks everybody. I broke my fall and his windscreen with my head. Known in the trade as a "bullseye"

Coppers showed me respect for cycling from Epsom. Phoned my wife to check I was not totally maddened. Will phone their station and tell their boss they did well.

Most of my despair came when I realised how close it would be. As a bit of a geek this is now fascinating ( like a geologist watching a volcano explode), but you are right that for most people this will be very bad.
