Some drafter down passed dolphin square. I'm cruising, nice and relaxed. Can't be bothered to put in much effort.

    I wave him on.

I pass him a bit later heading towards lotus road.

I stop for the zebra crossing a bit later on and bam - he rides into the back of me.

He gets very shouty. Says something about his camera (classic!) and that the pedestrian had 'only just arrived'.

Some rozzers show up who happen to be passing. Show little interest. Noones hurt. I tell him to not ride so close.

  • Colds.

I'm sick and tired of catching every bloody thing that is going round.
It is never enough to knock me out completely (luckily), but just simmers away under the surface, just enough to make it uncomfortable and stop me from riding.

On the CS7 E&C avoid route this morning & crossing to Princess St using the bike lane. I move out a bit to the right to make the tightish left (carrying a bit of speed) - no bother, nothing in the way, just another bike approaching from the other direction (from E&C) but easily far enough away that my manoeuvre will not affect him in any way.

Cue "ding ding ding" and some shouty grumbling from the militant bell user(/end).

Yes, well done. You've got a bell. (yet still appeared to have failed to alert the hi-viz clothing factory he'd apparently collided with, to his presence). Doesn't mean you need to find ANY reason to use it.

Pity you didn't have any lights you chump.....

To the cyclist that overtook me this morning going uphill - if you have a rear light , it really helps to put it "over" the mudguard, not underneath it.

  • I'm driving in during half-term as the massively reduced traffic means i can see the little guy in the morning and the evening if i do so.

Another (probably massively brainy) idiot nearly cycled their bike shaped object under my car this morning pulling onto a roundabout directly in front of me.

Another case of what i'm terming "studicide", where Cambridge undergrads seek to level the playing field and destroy their super-brainy genes in acts of mass self-risk.
  • Dogs on flexi leads. If I take the left hand side of the shared path and cycle at 5 mph noting that you are on the right hand side, 20 feet away, with a dog on a flexi lead can you a) ensure that your yappy little yorkie that doesn't like bikes is taken somewhere else or b) keep his flexi lead on short, preferably so he can't reach my side.

Last week I bought 8 hoover bags from eBay. They have now arrived, fit the vacuum cleaner, and all is well.

Why oh why oh why does eBay keep spamming me to ask me whether I'm interested in buying more? I have several years' supply of the things; there's every chance the vacuum cleaner will die before I run out of bags. Why on earth would I want more?????

Why can't I shift this cold? Going on 2 and a half weeks and I've lost, conservatively, 40 watts. (Skiing through it probably didn't help, mind).

Took me precisely 5 weeks to finally shift the cold I had which started 25th Jan. Normally it's a week, this was a bad one, actually started deep in my chest and worked up and out.

After picking up a rattling on application of power this morning that I couldn't bottom out, my pannier disconnected itself at a pothole on the way home through the rear derailleur. Thankfully I wasn't motoring at the time, but gentle cruising towards a junction, so it just stopped the chain & got caught in the Rd.
Turned out one bolt has sheared after the other had worked it's way loose ( it's something I'd forgotten to check since fitting the rack 4 months ago

I know the feeling, picked up a cold which, based on what I've read online, seems to have turned into a sinus infection. Three days of constant green snot out of one nostril. :?

I have had it now for 5 weeks. One day of actually feeling ill and the rest of the time coughing incessantly. It started to subside last week only for me to get another cold on top. Cue more coughing. Doc told me you can expect it to hang around for at least 6 weeks... :x

I've had something similar for the last 5 weeks, thought it was just a cold/flu that was dragging on. Got the results of a blood test and a chest xray yesterday, apparently I have pneumonia!

Awful buttock clenching moment today on the way home, as scooting along at 30mph into a smidy.
I have never endoed a race bike before, didn't know it was possible with rim brakes.
Felt like I was going to go all the way over, didnt have time to compute if it was best to let the wheel move again and roll into the dozy bint, but just kept my balance.
The kids in the car were screaming like mad, probably because they had a gurning, almost upside down cyclist staring at them!

  • Off-topic but loft converters have made me angrier than just about any bad driving I've experienced in the last three years. Still need to get the sodding thing finished so am not going name the company but if anyone in SE London is thinking of getting their loft done PM me and I'll share details of who I most definitely don't recommend.

Lead rider in our club ride today should go and buy a lottery ticket because the utter puss bucket in a 4x4 driving seriously fast on a blind single track lane came close enough to take a DNA sample.

Seriously something has to be done about the way people drive its out of control

Garage burgled last night, SE London. Initial check seems to show they only took skis and bikes so looks targeted. If anyone sees any of the following offered on eBay, Gumtree etc please let me know - it's nearly all non run-of-the-mill stuff so should stick out like a sore thumb.

    Scott Addict R15 black/blue road bike frame/forks in 52cm
    Green Volkl Katana 191cm skis
Red Salomon 916 Lab ski bindings (were mounted to Katanas
Red Salomon 2V Lab GS skis (181cm) with black riser plates.
    Brown/black/grey Dynastar Legend Sultan 94 skis, 174cm (I think)
    Grey Look P12 ski bindings
Silver Volkl Aura skis 165cm (or thereabouts)
    Black/orange/red Storm Inferno skis (155cm)
    Black Vist 412 ski bindings.
Black Bartletts-branded 180cm double roller ski bag.

Probably more to add after police have been and inspected the scene.

Also sorry to hear that Keyser. I was expecting more bikes to be on that list though.
My rant. Some twunt in a large BMW turned left across the front of me from the right turn lane, then hooted at me as I carried on not leaving him enough room. A little further along at the first available opportunity he overtakes on a narrow stretch of road cutting sharply across the front of me and jams on his brakes. Then drives along the road jamming his brakes on every time I got close. Utter cockwomble of the highest order. I don't know how he knew I was a cyclist because I was in a car at the time.
