Probably my worst ever commute this evening. Got back to the bike cage to find a p%^ct7re - bugger. Then 5 mins down the road in Kensington came across some lunatic shouting and swearing at every cyclist in the vicinity - god knows why. I then sprinted from the green lights only to see an old lady in front of me just before I hit her. she seemed ok though, other than a sore arm. I ended up with with a bent front wheel and a headset out of whack. I could then hear the aforementioned lunatic shouting form 100 yards up the road that it was my fault even though he missed her by gnats breath. After sorting the lady and my bike out - I then get beeped for holding up a car for 5 secs when he was just about to sit in traffic for 15 mins. I sometimes wonder why I bother... :evil:0

Check out this week
Seriously though, bar the odd day, for the western UK that's been pretty much 3 months of rain now.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I have moved house. My wonderful long 14mile commute each way has now become 4miles each way with certain amounts of grid lock, this makes me sad.The doctor said I needed to start drinking more whiskey. Also, I’m calling myself ‘the doctor’ now0

I may have broken my frame
Pressing in the BB30 adapter sleeve, it became very hard to press in, I applied more force until I couldn't move it at all. Then I noticed it was bent, not just a little out of true, but actually buckled.
Looking inside the shell, it looks like there's a "band" which appears to have a smaller diameter than the outside where the BB30 bearings sit. Thus, the sleeve won't go any further. (It's a CAADX if anyone knows anything about the BB shell)
My bike now resides in a LBS to see if he can remove it, and find out if I've written off the frame.
London Road frameset is looking like a good replacement if required, at £149 (in selected sizes/colours)0 -

Come out of work in the week to a flat front tyre. Spun the wheel looking for debris etc but nothing found. Got round to repairing the tube this afternoon, pumped it up looking for the leak and the tube is still inflated now seven hours later.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Suspected ungentlemanly conduct???0 -
Every time I've had this in the past, it's been a leak around the valve stem. Only shows up when the tyre is pumped up to a reasonably high pressure...1938 Hobbs Tandem

Have you forgotten to remove the circlip from the inside of the BB shell?
In a normal BB30 installation, they sit just inside the shell to keep the bearing in the correct position...

Phone broke taking with it all of the photos/video from my recent ski trip. Faff with LG to get it fixed, won't give me an address to send the phone to, I've got to hand it to a courier who'll be round at some point to my home address in the next 24 hours, and no they can't collect it from work or give me a more accurate time point.
Try my old handset to see if I can get the sim working. Nope, it's network-locked to my old provider. It's over 24 months old so network should unlock. Call them, they refuse to help because my number/account isn't active with them any more, and no, I can't escalate.
Find a cheap handset on the retail provider's website, check that it's in stock at the local store, go down there and find that it's £10 more expensive and I have to top up a minimum of a tenner too. Argue that they should sell it at the online price as all I'd do is return to desk and order online. They refuse to budge. Go back to office (10 min walk) and order online. Get told after purchase I need three separate pieces of ID, including a <3m bank statement to collect phone, which I don't have in office."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

I broke mine the other week. It jumped out of my hand when I was wasted.
Anyway, the Vodafone insurance sorted me right out. The courtesy phone was like something from Fisher Price, but it still worked... just.
I know the horse has bolted, but Google Drive is great for non-sensitive documents such as apres-ski shenanigans.Ben

I'm in the same situation with my old airtime provider. Old handset so went into the local store and asked about unlocking and was told it's cost, called up the customer service number and started the process. Called them yesterday to get unlock code and was told cause I'd ported my number to new provider they can't do anything for me so it looks like I'm off to one of those phone shops to get it unlocked.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

The bit I'm talking about is right in the middle of the shell and looks about 10mm wide. It looks like the shell had been machined with a smaller bit first, then a larger one for the bearings on the outside edges. I'll try and take a photo when I get it back, assuming he can't fit a new adapter

Hi All,
I'm new, please be gentle.
FFS, can someone tell me why FSA Gossamer Triple MegaExo Chainsets are double the price of BB30!? It's doing my head in.
PS, I'm fat and old, so need the granny gear. ;-)0 -

Forgot to check I could comfortably sit on a bike this morning due to new plasters on wipeout graze across stomach line.
Cue first 30 seconds of riding standing up to warm up, followed by a single sit, and then the rest of the ride standing up again. Managed to pull the entire plaster off during the ride due to movement of top.
Whoops.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Hey Rick, where is the "fun" in that! ;-)
I have a demented desire to continuously fiddle with my stuff  The bike is demanding new legs and I must obey.
The price between BB30 and MegaExo is perplexing though.....0 -
