    Feckin' plane trees!

At the age of 42 I seem to have developed hayfever specific to plane trees. I guess I could say I've got away pretty lightly if it wasn't for the fact that every road in London seems to be lined with the buggers. :|

Ugh - this +1! I think I've said this before on here - I'd get off the tube at Holborn and by the time I'd got to Aldwych I'd be coughing and wheezing. I remember saying to my GP that it felt like I was breathing in pollen soup.
By the time the end of June came around though, I was pretty much ok - I'm allergic to tree pollen but am ok when it's flowers (June) and then grass (end July I think?)

My girlfriend really struggles to find clothes that are small enough.

I mean, really struggles. She's small, for sure, but she's not a dwarf or anything like that. She claims, and I see no reason why she'd make this up - that the smallest sizes have just got a lot bigger.

Only those shops which do 'petite' ranges fit, and they have veeery limited choice.

    Go to Cardiff then :)

Seriously, my daughter is a petite 5ft and struggles to find good clothes. But she went on a work trip to Cardiff and has a few hours to kill, so went into the shopping centre there, and apparently found every shop, Gap, Zara, Zigzag, etc etc had much more extensive petite ranges than the London stores (she works just off Oxford St so knows them well, and Westfield is her second home!). She spent quite a lot; when she came home looked like she'd been to the sales!

Maybe they're smaller in Wales so the stores cater for the local demographics?

Welsh do tend to be smaller, 5ft blokes isn't that uncommon let alone ladies. at least in South Wales. My sister found finding BF's even close to her height hard work since my family are tall.

Dynamite comes in small packages, see!

@stu - that sucks. Sorry to hear.

  • Chapeaux to the dynamo shouting abuse at a car last night which nearly T-boned him at a junction in Kingston.

Sadly if you creep nearly all the way across the junction to try and jump the lights, that will happen. My favourite bit at the next lights was your look to me of 'idiot drivers/sympathy' when I had none. You've made your club, other clubs and cyclists in general look like tools, well done.

Saw him again this morning and took a nice long draft off him to piss him off.

Lungs and sinuses; I hate you.

I'm beginning to think that I have caught viral pneumonia of my mates kid when we were in Japan as since I've been back I've just been rubbish. Headachy every morning and if I bend over to pick anything up my head feels like it's swelling up like a balloon.

Was going to Church Road the other day with a chap on my wheel. Upped the pace a little and start to make a gap when my lungs decide to end my hubris and launch into a massive coughing fit that results in him over taking and me looking like I was trying so hard I burst a lung.

muppet decided to draft me into a brutal headwind for too damn loong last night. clearly no idea what he was doing and was waaay to close for the road conditions Legs were too shot just to engage warp drive a drop him.

So i decided to mess with him: Gently slow down to the point where he had to pass, let him get back up to speed, overtake him, wait for him to catch up and sit back on my wheel. And repeat.

Managed about 4 of them before i he gave up and buggered off.

Some people are soooooo lazy. And I'm childish i know.

Edit: more accurate to state the system rather than the people.....

Application form states, 6 documents are required as proof of residency over the past 2 years, if insufficient joint named correspondence exists, then correspondence in either name (applicant and partner) will suffice.

Reality is that they want a continuous trail of documents for 2 years at regular intervals for both applicant and partner. We looked through the documents we have to provide this and totalled approx 40 documents, a far cry from the 6 required.

Schoolboy error Mr Burns. Over on pro-race you'd be mocked for not ALWAYS recording the program afterwards, just in case. ;).

You Englanders don't know the meaning of the word midge. If you can see your hands through the dense cloud, its not a problem. Pah.

At least with the Giro finishes you could catch up with the beginning of the following days recording... this one is gone for ever, can't even find a repeat in the schedules. :(

Oh, bum. I was hoping to watch that this evening due to Saturday night telly being rather pants now that TV Burp and Match of the Day are both off-air for a while. Is there a repeat tonight or Sunday night by any chance?

  • Ever wondered what it feels like to have your front wheel drop through a drain cover while try to track stand on top of it. A lot of people got to see at College Roundabout in Kingston this morning. I was amazed the white van stuck behind me at the junction was so patient and that I didn't fall over with both feet still clipped in thus Pringle'ing my front wheel.

Still, the weather was good, the traffic light and I spent the weekend a long way from this Jubilee rubbish sat in the sun.
