The cafe below my flat having work done in the kitchens at 3am when I sleep directly above the kitchens :(

Had a few instances where I thought I should rant, but yesterday tipped it.

Out riding with a friend, who is doing the L2B with me next month, he hasnt got many miles under his belt and was his first 20 mile trip. About 3 miles in, lights are on red, filtering through traffic, I stop and he sails through.
I shout "Your meant to stop" to get a reply of "Your on a bike, its clear"
Apologies to the car directly ahead of me for the language that was my retort.

He is only cycling at the moment for a one off event, so obeying the rules and flaunting others. Very annoying and when I caught up with him we had a debate on why its not appropriate.

Well, guess who from this morning?

Same car, and this time even closer. Only my cycling mate was with me and he's got a camera strapped to his head as well...

I'll be off to the Police station again tonight by the looks of it.

Hit by a cyclist on a zebra crossing today. I was crossing, he was paying no attention, saw me late - he went over the bars so I went to catch him, he went into me, his bike went into the dog (which was on a short lead).

Everyone ok - but seriously dude - that crossing is right by a school and that could just as easily have been a small kid. Get a fricking grip.

I'm betting it ended in some form of awkward gropage. Fantastic situation at previous work where a girl tripped on the stairs and was caught by a guy at the bottom - one hand on the chest, one ahem a bit lower. In retrospect I think they both would have been happier if shed been let fall.

Specialized pro road shoes size 49. They don't make a bloody size 49 foot bed. Honestly what is the bloody point!

Yikes -- have you got the video of this one too? Did the police give you any impression of doing anything with the last video? This guy must be local to you, and repeat behaviour like this is more than a little naughty...

This one really has to go to the Police - this is a history of bad driving now. (no response from the previous as yet)

I sport a beard, a full (although neatly trimmed) captain Haddock. Under what circumstances then, Mr fukctard hairdresser would you think I would want you to square off a sideburn with clippers leaving me with a half inch bald stripe separating beard from haircut you complete and utter retarded waste of skin???

Just spent 20 minutes with beard clippers trying to minimise the Vanilla Ice look.

And he wanted paying!!! Fukc Right Off.

He only got the one side....he was trimming around the ear when for some unaccountable reason he decided to edge off the sideburn......

I've been using the same barber for two years (and it is a barber, hairdressing in a separate room) but they've changed hands apparently. I wouldn't trust this numpty to shave a pork butt.

Really annoying when you settle in to a barber and then have to abandon it and find another one.

Not really a rant. Nowhere else to put it.

Was riding down chelsea embankment - lights meant I caught up with a big peloton of roadies.

Ahead of me were two chaps side by side - fair pace, chatting away.

Anyway, a car pulls up to a side road, wanting to turn left onto our road. Seems clear to me he'll probably go for it, despite being minimal room. He does, and of course, rodies need to break to slow down for him. Queue enormous shouts, hand waves, gestures, head shaking etc etc.

C'mon guys. Was obvious it was going to happen. Wasn't actually dangerous...

Not really a rant either but...

There seems to be a campaign in Scotland just now to get driver to give cyclists more room and generally draw their attention to the fact cyclists will be on the roads.

However it is limited to highlighting children cycling to school. No mention of any other cyclists bar drawing your attention to or asking you to give more room to children cycling to school. Why limit it so :(

Show adults and people think "blooy lycra louts, deserve everything they get". Show a 10 year old girl and even the most ardent petrolhead might consider giving some space, which leads to "more space" being yhe default approach to cyclists.

A note to nob 'ed estate agents:

How many times must I stress that we are in no way desperate to move? If you meet the criteria I have given you then there's a 99% chance you'll find yourself a deal. I accept it's a long list - and let's be honest one or two places have come close to satisfying it - but that's our problem and prerogative. So don't call me (and especially don't call my girlfriend) giving it all the psychology and sales pitch bollocks. Because I can talk the talk and play the game like nobody you've ever met before.

S'true. Or at least it must be because, otherwise, they wouldn't get away with such weak patter over and over. One guy who we're dealing with (not the other way around), definitely preys on people's desperation to find somewhere... well that ain't gonna work here.
