I can definitely say that going commando in a suit is not ideal.

Now, if only my boss could head out so I can go out to the shops and sort myself out.

Surely the solution is to just head out, and if challenged, explain why  They don't seem like a bunch that would be comfortable with you sat there sans underpants.

Yeah. That's short term gain for long term pain though.

Imagine the sh!t I'd get for however long it is until I leave!

Very nearly left hooked today, only my 'proving a point' stopped it.

Approaching a set of traffic lights not far after a roundabout, it's uphill, so admittedly I'm not going fast, but the lights are on red, and traffic will have slowed right down to get around the tight RAB.

A car goes past (if I was driving I'd have waited, but no harm done), closely followed by a van, who has to brake once he's next to me, because the car in front is stopping for the red light. So he keeps on slowing down, then drifts towards the kerb, having obviously forgotten I'm there.

I go into 'proving a point' mode so rather than stopping on the left hand side of the van, where he's almost pinned me, I squeeze in front (lights were red, no danger of him moving) and wedge myself into the gap in front of him, behind the car.

Look over my shoulder, no indicators. Lights go green and I pull away in primary, expecting van man to be trying to push through again, but he's not there, he'd turned left. 10 seconds after overtaking me and squeezing me into the kerb he turned left, with no indicators, he would have been on top of me if I hadn't pushed through. I could probably have managed an emergency stop that would have put me behind him, but it seemed like he was trying to be unhelpful.

Also, Grrrr at the Audi A5 driver who nearly hit me head on on Monday. I was approaching a traffic light controlled crossroads, planning to turn right, so in primary in the right hand lane. The traffic going the other way only has a single lane, which had been blocked by a bus at a stop. The bus was now indicating, pulling out and doing about 10-15mph when an Audi came flying around the outside of it, completely in my lane (seeing as the bus was taking up the whole of the other lane). A swerve and a swear was called for!

Why do I keep getting punctures on The Highway! Grrrhhhh

New rear tyre maybe? Current one is Gatorskin done about 2,000 miles but lots nick and cuts in it, all the recent punctures have been little bit of grit of flint stuck in tyre and leading to slow puncture. Wonder if it's just wear on the tyre.......

Well I've had 2 in as many weeks! Just ordered a pair of 28 Gatorskins, I should be running bigger tyre due to weight anyway got the pair with 2 spare tubes for £44, will be interesting on to see on strava if I'm quicker on the fatter rubber.

Now I'm a little concerned at just ordering 23mm tyres to replace my 25mm ones if heavier should be running bigger :?

Simply put more weight = greater tyre drop and too much tyre drop = greater rolling resistance so you don't go fast enough. Solution to this more pressure hit a certain point and you cannot put more pressure in without causing other problems. Us big people might be quicker on fatter tires than smaller ones because of this.

No it doesn't. Unless it's an older Corsa then you'd be correct.

Hehe, yeah it's just that older corsas are the car of choice for 17 year olds to lower and put sub woofers in the back of

I might as well post it, even tho it's a day & a bit since.

Honking up the gentle climb into the last but one village before home on Friday pm and suddenly there's nowhere near the pedal resistance that I'd like there to be at that speed & effort. Guurrrnnn - Crossbar; meet the nuts. I think you've been introduced before actually. Hello there... <crummmppp>

The chain's split, thanks to the powerlinks device giving up the ghost. No sign of the link in the road, but I'm not sure I want to find it anyway of it's that keen to fail at an inopportune moment.

Phone call home, emergency recovery service arrives within the allotted time, all is well. Could have done without it though. Votto Soprano beginning to fade...

Dark lane, middle of nowhere, raining, lower jockey wheel decides to drop off and hide; cue lots of punting and thankfully some decent freewheeling to get home. Might buy flouro jockey wheels next time.

"Escorting" ex-wife back to mine. Let her get a head start and say "If you get to the Shell petrol station on Evelyn St before I catch you up (on my bike) then go past and pull over".

As I pass the Shell petrol station and not seeing her up ahead and knowing her all too well, glance at the petrol station and there she is, tucked away in a far corner blithley chatting on her phone

What part of "go past and pull over" is "pull in and tuck yourself out of sight"??
