If you've never done night riding then yes you should get out and try it, its adictive!
May i direct you to the Deal extreme website or the what lights thread in buying advice, get yourself a bar and headlight and hit those trails!

You'll look like this (from last night) but it is awesome and you'll be grinning the whole way. 0a767920.jpg

No balls needed as the speed you guys ride at you'll be well up there! Best thing about it is the tracks, everyone like going somewhere new?

For a good pace you need to do 5 hour LSR's every week.

Saturdays ride will not be one of those, 9am meeting at the Kart Track for a grand tour of Thorndon.

The ground should be drier than of late, but it's going to be on the chilly side.

We had an excellent ride today, lots of dry trails and rode fast and continuous.

But there is a lot of very well churned sticky mud in places.

I will definately be out again, working this Sunday but will be over again. Going to have more of a practice with my clipless pedals this week and decide if they are for me!

Assuming you're riding regularly, give them until at least the end of April. They are not intuitive (or weren't for me at least) so you really have to stick with them. I don't think they are a perfect solution but I use mine about 95% of the time now.

I was driving home last week when i saw some very, very bright lights comming towards me then dart off down a path that leads behind tesco. Am very tempted to get some decent lights and give it a go

I ride langdon, i wasn't one of those you saw but i'm out later for acouple of hours if you've got your lights yet? I start at one tree hill and make it up from there.

Thorndon is pretty dry now, but lots of solid ruts and boot plants.

It's going to be a dry run for Saturdays expedition, 9am Kart track car park.

I might be able to make this if i can bolt things back together in time when I get home from work. Did you decide on a time?
