You mean the nature reserve with the shop? If so, what times were you thinking of making it regular?

How many people turned up yesterday? Sounded like a few people were up for it. Misses nicked the car again to go to work in the morning so that was me stuffed! I'll make it over there one Saturday!

We had a compliment of five on a most delightful spring day.

The trails nearly all dry and most of the ruts have been rolled flat, so the going was faster.

Thanks to those who turned out, nice to have some new faces.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"
  • Hey guys, new(ish) to the area. Moved from Birmingham to Basildon...bit of a difference let me tell ya!

Anyway, starting to get into the MTBing again, so would be great if you wouldn't mind me tagging along sometime. Itching to get this bike doing the graft it was built for!

  • Went Epping forest, no transport so tubed it all the way up!

Friend tagged along, he came unprepped, front brakes operational only, and poor poor fitness!!

It was good but no way saw the best of the trails there. And that's it!

And p.s....I didn't think that my accent could get any worse but now it's forming some sort of brummie/essex hybrid twang!

LOL dont pick up the Bas-vegas twang, thats whole different thing!

Well epping i'm yet to find anything to keep you occupied more than once in a blue moon, nothing of real interest especially when you have such better places closer to you.
Laindon and thorndon, Just up the road,
    Danbury a short car journey.
Thetford and Chicksands a little further afield.

    when do you ride?
saturday over thorndon there's usually a meet, Grips in rayleigh do a ride on a wednesday night (?) or sundays and tuesday i ride here there and everywhere and anyone is welcome to join me.

  • Can't drive which is gaaay, therefore the bike is also my transport to these locations. Danbury/Laindon, whereabouts? Could you hook me up on google maps perhaps?

Tuesdays are my best day by far, finish work at 11.30am!! I just gotta make sure I'm in a fit state for work the next day :D

Weekends are also good if am not working, sounds better...much better in fact than I thought it was gonna be!

    Basildon is fucking boring!

Tuesdays I normally ride in Fryerning which is near ingatestone. I work in Basildon so could always offer a lift if needed.

weekend wise i ride anywhere so always best to keep an eye on here.

i'll post some maps in a sec.

    Danbury My persona Favorite

Fryerning We have added to this some excellent single track from highlands. This is my tuesday night ride.

Laindon This only a small part that was used in last years race, Muddy legs is the man for here as he works actually in the park. he will also be able to tell you where and where not your allowed.

Thetford I like it here, not very technical but can knock out plenty of miles. oh and its dedicated cycle routes so no walkers or anything in the way.
