My Spesh Rockhopper is 27.6 lbs. It's the 2008 comp version in black/white which I picked up for £675. Pretty happy with it so far!

I upgraded from my Spesh Hardrock which was a shocking 36 lbs with half a waterbottle and lights / computer on! I think with no kit it was 33 lbs. Not great for a hardtail but the frame is indestructable and it seems more stable on the downs than the rockhopper. Probably as the ride position is less racey with a shorter stem and higher front end.

The rockhopper however requires much less effort going up or straight!
  • Loving my '08 RockLobster (Merlin Cycles), supplied at 26lb10oz with out pedals. Its now at 23lb3oz inc flat pedals. Considering a KCNC cassette and a KMC XL chain to take it below 23lb, although not to sure about the longevity of the cassette (currently running '08 XT). Any body got experience of the KCNC cassette, I understand it ti, alloy and scandium?

Carbon - your Kuota weighs 171 lbs?! That's heavy!

Some serious lightweights here. I'm happy with what my bike weighs (the newish Stumpjumper) and reckon much lighter and it would become less durable.

My Spec Rockhopper Pro is stated at 11.5 KG which is 25.3lbs; According to the bikeradar review. Is this usually correct.

The wheels seem quite heavy compared to some at like 2.2kg for the rear. Been looking closely at the new Crank Brothers wheels like omg they are amazing!

Keith - might be a tad optimistic but not far off.

My Stumpy Comp is similar but should (hopefully!) be a bit lighter and it's not under 25lbs.

Our Rockhopper Comp is just shy of 20lbs.

Those Crank Bros wheels do look lovely 8)

My bike was never the lightest of things but I've since got lighter cranks and pedals, which has been totally counteracted by the rather heavy front wheel I have, all because some wanker thought I deserved running over. Charming.

Soon to have new forks, which I think may be lighter than what I have already..

Because I keep bees I'm more that used to lifting boxes that weigh 20lbs. I would say my bike weighs very close to that, between 18-21lbs I'd say.

Last time I weighed my bike it was 10.4kg or 22.8lb.
Since then I have changed the tyres from Panaracer Smoke/Dart wire beads to 480g Continentals & ghetto tubeless as well as my Fox RLT 80's to Carbon Bonty rigids & aluminum bars to Azonic Carbons.
That must have saved approx 3lb so I'd guess it being under 20lb now.

I don't have access to a good set of scales but I compared it to the Boardman Pro in Halfords & it was noticeably lighter than that, I really would like to weigh it again to confirm.

My custom BMX is approx 23/24lb & feels really light as well, I like light bikes...
