the easiest way for 90% of people to save weight is to eat a little less.
I'm 5'8" and way only 56 kilo's.... I can't eat less, it'll look like there's no one riding the bike! :shock:0 -
Milkie - are you male?!
That IS damn light!
I'm almost free of any bodyfat yet 76kg and the same height!0 -
Milkie - are you male?!
That IS damn light!
Yup I'm male, I know its light! I'm trying to put weight on (was 49kg 6 months ago, now 56kg), while everyone else is trying to loose it from their bikes and bodies!
Shouldn't we be weighing the bikes with ourselves on them?
So mine would be 68 kilo's. I think I might win this!
Whats your total weight?
Bike + Rider0 -
I'm 87kg bike (11kg) and me together.
Add another 1-2kg for water and tools when on a longer ride!0 -

Sure are, most of the England pack is obese according to those figures!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
Errmm, yes, I seem to be 20lbs less than you and probably Mark.
And that's after gaining three stone/42lbs at the gym.
Must have light bones...0 -
I did a BMI fat check just over a year ago. I was clinically obese!
BTW will people under the age of 40 start using KGs & not lbs. It's like trying to understand £'s shillings & pence!!!!!!Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

I still use stone and lbs, and still measure height in feet and inches (same with surfboard lengths, although wetsuit thickenesses are in mm!). Funny old country we live in.
I was borderline "obese" for a while despite low bodyfat. I also looked like a yob!0 -
oh lord! bmi! i dont think i wanbt to do mine lol! i think i will defo be in the red zone lol!Timmo.

My Giant XTC is approx 24lbs.Nothing really special, mainly XT groupset,Rebas, and XT 717 wheels.
Got to the point where I would need to throw a lot of cash at it to get it seriously light.Could probably make it a pound or so lighter by going tubeless, and one or 2 other tweaks, without spending too much, but sub 23lbs is going to be expensive.2006 Giant XTC
