I'm apparently quite left wing now ! I didn't used to be, but I did that questionnaire on www.politicalcompass.org , and I scored -4.63 on economic left/right and about -1.0 on libertarian / authoritarian. So I'm almost a third of the way to being ghandi. I used to be right in the middle.

An average penis is all that is required to do the job. How revealing that you lot are so quickly reduced to the 'size is everything' argument.. the size of your car, your bank balance, your house, your egos etc etc etc.

Left wing views tend to be motivated by a concern for your fellow humans and a desire to do something practical to assist them.

Right wing views tend to have a view that other people are a dnager to them, not their problem and that by merely doing the best thing for themselves there is a remote possibility that the trickle down theory they made up might accidentally help others too.

There's broadly two kinds of left:

1. Libertarian left. Characterised by belief in: natural altruism, no state / hierarchy, small-scale / localism, anti-military etc. Worst tendencies: anti-scientific, anti-rational.

2. Communist left. Characterised by belief in: state control, common property, large scale / transnationalism, scientific progress and management. Worst tendencies: totalitarianism, loss of individuality.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety
