Well I have already met some goals, bought bikes, been on 5 hard club rides, joined club, bcf and got racing license.
Now my targets are to ride some hard Welsh sportives, Dragon, Fondo and Black Mountains, one European ride and to do some races and hope to get some points.
Not toooo optimistic for first year hopefully [:D]
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">Update:
I have now enterred a couple of local reliability rides for Jan/Feb, Dragon, dartmoor Classic, Welsh Gran Fondo, Autumn Epic UK sportives, Italian Pinarello Gran Fondo, and London to Paris in June so have to get fit now [:D]
I now need to sort out a racing schedule [:D]
I am adding new goal of getting down to 12 st ( currently 12st 7lbs)because I am increasing my road mileage but my weight is not coming down yet!!!0 -
Drink more beer.

Me via SMS: Are you home yet?
Colin on my Trice: No. I\'m completely lost at the moment, but I\'m having loads of fun!</font>0 -
My target for 2007 is to do a 10 mile TT in less than 24 minutes and a 25 mile TT in less than 60 minutes.
Tough as I've been out of the sport for 25 years.0 -
Ravenbait, how did you go in your first tri? You're pretty keen to be starting them at this time of year - my first one ever was Blenheim last year, and that was quite cold and miserable enough for me!0
-
Not to run out of water in the middle of nowhere.0
-
I have my first 100 mile ride this year, could do with losing a couple of stone though.
to get a good view at the TDF in london.
To get a rubino back on the wheel without using the word c**t.0 -
To lose 5 stone in weight, which i really need to do for health reasons, and complete the British Cyclosportive, (if im lucky enough to get a place) which has also become the incentive to losing the weight.
If i can achieve these two things i will be a very happy and lighter man[:)]

Was it you I bumped into on I think saturday? I was coming up from Thornhill in CSC kit and wrecked at the top, and another cyclist was standing next to the Travellers rest (very aptly named I must say!).
Also which way are you going to try and climb it from for 7 in a row?

bit late I know but still plenty of 2007 left!
1) Lose rest of the weight I gained during pregnancy
2) Do my first 10 mile TT
3) Assuming I don't get laughed at too much doing 2, improve times over the rest of the year!

Cycle shorts have magic powers that make a big bum look HUGE!!0 -
Just a short note to let you know about my new target for 2007. I will be doing the 196km Etape du Tour bike ride for charity! I am raising money for the charity Chernobyl Children In Need (CCIN). This charity helps children in the southern Belarus area, particularly the town of Ozarichi. It undertakes building projects at the schools and orphanage and hospital, sends 3-6 lorries of aid yearly and sponsors over 120 needy children.
You can find more details and make a donation on this website: http://www.justgiving.com/petemanley
Please feel free to pass this on to others who you feel may be interested in donating. So far I am well short of my œ1500 target for donations so any help would be appreciated.

Revised goals are to ride a 50 before August, and ride the 12 hour in Sep.

So half way through the season and onto the most important phase now, I though I'd look at my season goals.
What an idiiot, I'd set main goals which depended on other people and they've ALL dropped out. I think I'm the only one in the team (racing long dist.) left. So now I'm onto the sub goals, pb's at every distance (except 25), go under on a proper 25 course and pick up club gold standards at all distances. These stand at:-
1)10- 23:30
2) 25 -1:00:30
3) 30- 1:14
4) 50- 2:05
5) 100 -4:25
6) 12hrs-250 miles
So half way through, I've done 1,2 and 4 failled on 3. I have one go at 5 wich I'm feeling confident about and one go at 6 which is going to take some work!0 -
For me...
April
NY Moors ride with a few of the Forum Lads.
Fred Whitton Practice route as a training run
May
Richmond 5 Dale Challenge
June
White Rose Classic
Dave Lloyd Mega Challenge (probably this years biggest Challenge)
July
Crack the Pico Las Neives climb(supposed equally as tough as the Angliru?) and a few other brutes in Gran Canaria.
September
BORMIO! Mortirolo / Gavia / Stelvio and many others in the vicinity - cant wait!
Thats enough for one year0 -
