Indeed, I noticed that when I reread my post.

What's the best way to look after my Pista's chain?

I run SRAM chains with powerlinks on my other (mountain) bikes and tend to take the chain off quite frequently (after every muddy ride, but less often in summer) and give it a good wash, and then clean up the drivetrain.

Although the Pista chain can be split open, and so in theory it could be cleaned up in the same way, it's not really practical do that.

So what's the recommended approach?

I used to buy the cheapest, thinest aerosol liek GT85 and just blast the rubbish out of the chain with a cloth behind then wipe with said cloth, leave to drip and re-lube.

There are some good degreasers these days like Speed Clean or Clean Streak that will dislodge and evaporate any rubbish on the chain leaving it perfectly dry for re-application. I used to use these for my motorbike. I would keep it away from bearings, but it is great for getting grease or oil spots off the garage floor.

Do you sell a 1 1/8" steel fork? Ideally with room for a 28 with mudguard eyes, but drilled for a normal DP road brake, not cantis.

Bern, for his birthday my younger brother is going to get his first road bike, we've pulled together œ700 max. He was going to get a 'shrek', but methinks he would like a Condor - do you have anything in this price range?
Where\'s me jumper?

Mike, sorry I don't think so, but it would be worth checking with the sales guys as there may be pair lurking. Failing that they may be able to order a pair.

Simon, I believe there should be something. If you contact one of the sales hits they should be able to help.
Let me know if response is slow.

• Bern, sorry if this is a silly/trivial question but I was wondering whether there are many 50/52cm road bike frames available at your shop for a test ride?

More info: friend of mine is interested in a Condor road bike, very interested in the Baracchi frame in particular. Would like to test ride a model with typical specs at your premises if at all possible before making such a big investment (budget is in the 1200-1500 range). So was wondering whether she could just turn up at the shop this weekend and there'll be a suitably-sized Baracchi available to test-ride?

PS - am asking primarily because most bike shops do not appear to readily stock 50/52cm models and there is usually a waiting period to get the bikes in-store to test.

Thanks for any help!

ryderfreak, it is possible that there is one in store to take a quick spin on. If you call the store and ask for Peter, he will be able to help with your request. If there is not the exact model, there may be something close.

Random question Bern.

I have a Deda Big Logo stem on my fratello. Im trying to find out what angle rise it is, but can't find that info anywhere on the internet.

I dont suppose you know of hand? Or have literature there for it.

Just need to know, so I can pick the right rise when buying a new stem.

Thanks

• Bern, do Condor still sell all alum road frames, as per the Italia but with aluminium stays? Or were they dropped in 05/06?
Just curious cus I've bought a second hand one. [:)]

Yes, it just has a different name now, Agio. It has rack and guard fittings.

• Mine doesn't have mudguard or rack mounts, it looks every inch a race frame. Blue/Black, carbon forks. It's got Campag Khamsin wheels which only came out late last year, I think.
So, could it be 2006 model? Thanks.

Most likely 05 model, but we still had stocks in 06 so it could depend on when purchased.

I was out in the wilds of Hampshire on Monday and my old steed's rear spindle snapped. After giving it the Basil Fawlty treatment, I have declared that now is finally the time to get a Fratello.

So I'm up in London for a meeting on Monday but I can't find on the website what time you open/close? How much time do I need to allow for the jig/ordering details etc?

Thanks,

Alan

Alan, sorry the details are not there. Mon to Fri 0900 to 1800, wed late close 1930, sat 1000 to 1700, Sunday out riding.

I would allow approx 1 hour and could be worth calling ahead to make sure one of the guys are free. I would recommend Pete, James or Ronan for fratello.

• Thanks Bern

I am now officially excited (haven't bought a new bike in years). I will give the boys in the shop a call on Monday morning prior to heading over.

I'm back in London on the 18th April - is it reasonable to think a Fratello ordered on the 2nd would be in by then??

Cheers,

Alan

Alan, I got back in the office today after a few days away on business to find it has gone crazy. Unfortunately I have had to push delivery times back to up to 5 weeks, but will do everything possible to reduce this. It is worth waiting for what you want and the time does go very quickly.

it is good to be excited.

• Bern,

Do you know what the cost of the condor bike bags you've got in the shop is? I couldn't see a pice on them yesterday lunchtime and it was heaving so no way of asking anyone.

Cheers,

Ed

• Thanks!

Sorry - Not in my case. I clicked on a topic reply notification to see what was being said and then remembered that I wasn't able to find out the price in the shop yesterady.

Ejls2, thanks, good to know.

Currie, the decals used for this model are designed for small round tubes so the world champ bands may be a little tricky, but should be possible. A guess would be ¶œ120, but if you email greg@condorcycles.com he should be able to give a more accurate quote.
