Chris McCausland dancing on Strictly is one of the most remarkable things I've ever watched on TV

Weakest dancer of the 4 but the most extraordinary. Will win.

Watched the first episode on the latest Strike series last night. Looks like it will be pretty decent although I'm a bit concerned 4 episodes will mean a lot getting cut. For those who've read The Ink Black Heart, I would say it works better on TV where you can see the in game stuff (visually they have done a great job of recreating the game based on my imagination of it).

  • I remember that was a bit of a grind listening on the audio book. Makes sense it works on screen.

I've never listened to an audio book bit it was quite challenging to read through it. When I was watching last night I did wonder if the book had been written predominantly with the TV show in mind.

Finally watched the final episode of The Jackal. It was a bit like when you are in an exam and spent too much time writing a highly detailed answer to the first question then realised you only had 10 minutes to finish the rest of the paper.

Not saying the 8 out of 10 cats does countdown Christmas special has been in the can for a long time but they had a joke about Maggie Smith being in panto and one about Jon Richardson's wife having an affair.

Enjoying the description of Gavin & Stacey as Normal People for normal people.

Watched all of SAS Rogue heroes season 2, and found it just as enjoyable/entertaining as season 1.

It does state clearly at the beginning of each episode, it's not a lesson in history, so they of course embroidered certain parts of it.

I’ve been watching and quite enjoying it but I’m finding the long Paddy Mayne rants tiresome and the whole Eve Mansour love interest thing is a bag of shite. I’m all for introducing attractive women into the cast of a TV show but it is so forced, the whole nun thing was stupid.

Very true. I was wondering why anyone would put up with Paddy’s behaviour and constant poetic ramblings. Middle of nowhere, quick bullet to the back of the head, who’s to know? But there might be some method to the madness and once Paddy’s conscience, staff sergeant Jim Almonds rejoins the squad, he settles down. Love interest is a bit pointless and unnecessary. Rate Jack O’Connell as an actor. Roll on season 3.

    I concur...

It's a particular shame as I reckon the reality is plenty exciting enough without hamming it up.
