Late reply but apparently Potter was not one of the 10. I suppose it's possible him and Howe just don't want let it be known but would they actually lie ?

Edit - although there appears to be conflicting claims as to whether Potter was interviewed so who knows

[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]
  • Yeah, I have heard Potter was not one of them which is surprising. Alan Shearer said he was 100% certain Howe was not interviewed which would seem to back up Howe's claim.

If that is the case I am still at a loss as to who they interviewed. Some of those who have denied being interviewed must have been, Ancelotti seems likely to be fibbing as I have seen a few pieces heavily suggesting he was.

Worth giving Tuchel a go though. I think 18 month contract makes sense, it gives him a clear target of the next WC. If it goes well there are options and if not then everyone can shake hands and move on at the end.

  • I was flicking through reports on Monday's Ballon d'Or award and saw reference to Real Madrid boycotting the ceremony because their man didn't win.

Is this true? Feels childish if so, even by the standards of top level football.

  • Yes, they actually released a statement saying the club was not being respected and would not attend. The odd thing is Vinicius Jr didn't even win Real Madrid's player of the year, Bellingham did. Not sure why they were then outraged that VJ didn't win the Ballon d'or.

  • Setting a great example to the kids - take your bat and ball home if you don't win.
