    Minging conditions

Ah right, I’d read something on here about a bad crash in the sprint for minor places so assumed it was from that.

Switched the women’s race on about 15 minutes ago. It’s been aggressive racing but at the same time looks really slow. They seem to be grinding massive gears, conditions are obviously horrible and it looks like those grippy, nasty roads. I’d thought there may have been a headwind but flags aren’t moving.

Dutch support rider has gone off the front and with strong Dutch presence in the group behind no-one is chasing. Others coming back to them.

Now Vos has come back and is chasing seemingly unaware of the situation

That was the Italian rider, Glada Silo, who was in a two-up sprint for 5th with Celia Gery of France. I've seen unconfirmed reports that she only suffered bruising, and she finished the race, albeit in 58th position, over seven minutes down.

Kopecky has taken her leg warmers off, it's business time

Having Vos a minute ahead with a strong team mate working for her is only ideal for the Dutch.

The TV director has clearly never seen a bike race before. We want to see the front of the chase group, not the back.

ELB attacks out of the second group and Vollering follows. Kopecky can't.

They bridge to the front group

That changed very quickly. Race is very much on now.

Dutch are getting arsey that no-one else will help one of the win. Kopecky looks done.

    Vos and Kopecky back.

Front has eased off leaving Vis and Kopecky to get back. Longo Borghini looks strong but needs to avoid overplaying her hand. Markus also closing. Not sure how much help Vos and Markus will be though. Road conditions are horrendous, it’s like the Yorkshire Worlds.

Vollering manages to drop both her teammates and no one else.

Vollering attacks and only manages to drop the other two Dutch plus Ghekiere who looked ready to go for the last 40km.

Longo needed to attack a lap earlier
