Everyone has their 15 minutes of fame but this bloke had a few glorious weeks in the summer of '90. Seemed to come from nowhere (relatively speaking) and seemingly went back there but he was fantastic in that world cup

I thoroughly enjoyed how successful Kyle Walker's attempts at putting off Gabriel while defending a corner were yesterday. It was almost poetic.

City also swapped markers, so Walker could take care of Arsenal's biggest threat in Gabriel.

The other interesting thing about the game is it showed that City run out of ideas against a well disciplined defence and have difficulty defending corners. Hopefully, some other teams learn from this.

Arteta was pretty legendary in his playing days for it. His ability to concede a deliberate foul without getting a yellow was widely admired.

Guardiola is like a lot of very successful people who feign modesty. He is very gracious to teams he beats but any serious challengers and he quickly gets the digs in about their attitude/behaviour/performance.

Arteta, subsequently, took the opportunity to speak to his players on the side of the pitch.
This is completely true. Arsenal have done it for the last two seasons. What intrigues me is no pundit or commentator has ever noticed. At least yesterday, City got a team talk too whereas half the time the other side usually just mills around in their on field positions.

Not sure how it is different from an out field player going down with an injury requiring amputation, the manager speaking to other players, and then the player hopping back up. In fact I'm struggling to think of a team that doesn't do this, other than Man United (who aren't coached at all).

It's completely different. The entire Arsenal team disappears to the benches for a team talk. Usually midway through a half. Bit like a US style timeout.

I don't see the issue to be honest. Klopp would sometimes do it also.
I think your real objection is feigning injury to allow the time to do it. Add that to the list of issues with players feigning injury - to time waste, to get opponents sent off, to get penalties, to have a rest etc.

I was highlighting a tactical change that seems to have only just been picked up. I didn't state an objection although I do think it should be prevented.

Keeper can't leave the field for treatment so the game is definitely stopped for a period and you aren't down to 10men for the next 60 (might be 30?) seconds which they've introduced to stop players doing this as keepers don't need to go off after treatment.

A lot of the problem with head injuries is them not being taken seriously enough, so I don't think that's a good idea.
They were supposed to be cracking down on play acting a few seasons ago by reviewing the incident and sanctioning players.
