US Politics / Biden thread

Apparently you can ask Chat GPT to write some code to count the letters and then execute it. It can do this.

It produced some top notch arguments that cake stop would be proud of.

A source is not going to evolve - the thing you imagine cannot exist. If it's scraping information from the net, how does that verify anything as 'it' has no conception of truth or veracity whatsoever.

I didn't mean the source. The evolution of the AI which collects and interprets/packages the information found on the net.
Anyway, I've given it a good go explaining what's going to happen.
US political razzmatazz...

It doesn't interpret anything. That's the point. It's just regurgitation.

I'm going to regurgitate the salient points in your post:

Bumping this as it got AI talk bumped. Relevant to the thread too.

AI obviously thinks that Jesus was a white man with a beard, just like in all those Victorian images (and Robert Powell). Oh, and the photo was obviously in black & white, as colour photography wasn't around in AD 30ish.

Nicely illustrating how AI takes on the biases of the source data. The Victorian version of Jesus is based on the medieval idealised version (of which the Turin shroud is an example). It's not remotely amazing: it's just a mashup of Iggy Pop, Victorian portrait photography and medieval manuscript illustration.
The idea is still with us - it's not an accident that people with a bit of a messianic complex opt for the long hair, beard and loose clothing. Russell Brand is one example, especially since he was 'baptised' by Bear Grylls.

To be fair, it had quite a bit of filling in to do. I wonder why AI stopped above the nipples, isn't the original a full frontal?

RFK Jr joins the Trump campaign.

Meh, I'm increasingly getting the feeling that the polsters don't really have a clue.

first he tried to get harris to take him on, but she rebuffed his advances
he then showed his deep commitment to his personal values by switching to trump
they're well suited to each other, nyt opinion writer on him: "...a self-absorbed, entitled, attention-seeking narcissist with little to offer beyond a famous last name and a penchant for conspiracy-mongering."
i watched his speech yesterday, it was painful, man he's a whiner, almost makes trump look rational

I think it all a little crazy when there is a couple of months to go, postal/early votes I suppose.

I think, given presidential campaigns seem to have a complete dearth of policy discussions, polls are an easy way of filling column inches.

Playground insults don't belong in the governance of a country. Is that leading by example?

the 'never walz' nutbags demonstrated all the competence expected of trump disciples and didn't register the obvious domain name
it's ok though, someone did it for them...

MAGA folk not reacting terribly well to Trump admitting in an interview he lost the 2020 election "by a whisker".
0 -
That's hilarious.

Is he a Mexican white nationalist?
0 -
Imagine admitting that you believed Trump had been telling the truth!
0 -
They're in quite a bind - either they have to admit they believed a serial liar (and admit their cult leader was lying), or they have to admit that they knew he was lying but that their promotion of his known lies put hundreds of MAGATs in prison. It's rather delicious to watch the result of Trump just not being able to shoot his mouth off. I suspect Trump, like Johnson, doesn't really know where the truth ends and the lying begins, as they just say in the moment whatever validates their past actions and puts them at the centre of the action.

If Walz is meant to appeal to the traditional white male I'm not sure he is going about it the right way.
Scarramucci (sp?) was arguing that demographic feel the pendulum has swung too far against them, they feel their place in society is threatened, and that's one reason they are strongly behind Trump. Choosing Walz was supposed to reassure them the Democrats are not the enemy.
But then every time his name crops up he seems to be talking about culture war stuff. Maybe he feels he has to reassure Democrats that this middle aged straight white male is one of them but that isn't why he's there. For me he should be talking about jobs, economy etc - the traditional blue collar vote.

Yeah it’s not going well and I think everyone who is sensible just seems to be in awe that she can string sentences together and he’s a good bloke and is missing the polls.
Us all liking them is quite a bad sign.

looks like another fleecing is coming for the maga turkeys...
...no worries though, i'm sure trump will do nicely out of it

I think she's very unimpressive.
But she's up against a gibbering baboon. Lots of Americans seem to prefer that.

Orangatan surely, not a baboon, given he has been tangoed.
