For those of you who Tube, is this an improvement, sacrilege, or a waste of time (other opinions welcome)?

The brilliance of the original format is that it kind of is still a map of London, meaning you can find where you are relatively easily. Most people seem able to trace coloured lines to find where they need to go. This is why it is lauded for its brilliant simplicity.
This new one is a chocolate teapot, and makes sense only if you are used to viewing London through a fisheye lens.

Why some people leave very sharp knives to dry with the pointy end up, or, even worse, put them in the washing-up water with all the other cutlery. Clever people, too.
OK, this might have been better in the annoyances thread, but it baffles me.

I have the odd friend. For some reason they seem to come to stay with me in France, from time to time.

Wife doesn’t very often load the dishwasher but when she does she always puts the sharp ones pointy end up. I’ve been caught out a few times. Luckily our knives are rubbish so didn’t do any real damage.

A colleague was once stabbed in the face by a very sharp pencil. He leant over someone's desk to check the PC setup. The pencil was pointy end up in a container.

BTW, for those of you with longish memories, I tried the carrot water thing again, telling the young son of friends staying with me how amazed he'd be. Didn't turn luminous green overnight, so he wasn't amazed.

So Mike Lynch, founder of hedge fund Autonomy Capital, dies after his big yacht sinks off the coast of Italy, not long at all after he is cleared of fraud.
So far, so coincidental. (I’ve also met him a few times but that’s by the by).
Here’s the intriguing bit though….
Separately, it emerged on Monday that Stephen Chamberlain, Lynch’s co-defendant in the US fraud case, had died after being hit by a car in Cambridgeshire.
Gary Lincenberg, an attorney who represented Chamberlain in the case, said Autonomy’s former vice-president of finance had been fatally struck by a car while out running on Saturday.

Ya, ya, I was on a yacht* this one time on my way to that place** in Capri and my wife and I saw a waterspout. Awe inspiring***, but it is quite common in the med ya ya.
