My point was that asylum applicants aren't only housed in rough places, nor are the riots only happening in those places or where there are hotels holding asylum applicants. It's any decent sized town or city that you can bus people in to.

Sure. Though specifically Rotherham there was that huge child sex abuse scandal that was both massive and the police were found to be covering it up for concerns about the fact the perpetrators were mainly British-Pakistani, so that was always a tinder box.

Plenty of footage of armed groups of muslims attacking random white blokes too - and the trouble in Bolton was kicked off by a few hundred muslims. There is violence on both sides.

Yeah it's shocking - psychologists have written a fair amount about crowds/mobs to try and explain how things can escalate beyond what might be expected just from the sum of individuals.

I wondered how long it would be before the Honourable Member for Clacton would decide to wade in with a seemingly reasonable comment that also manages to imply the rioters have a legitimate grievance. Quite ironic that the guy who disappeared to the US more or less straight after getting elected now wants Parliament recalled.

Yes, the populist playbook, spend years inciting violence with inflammatory comments and then legitimise the actions of your minions to further your own political agenda. The both sides comment as highlighted above thread was also a Trump ploy in Charlottesville, white supremacists mow people down in their cars but the fault lay on both sides according to Trump.
I find this whole right wing rhetoric that people have a legitimate grievance particularly tiresome. They are not marginalised, or disenfranchised, they are racists who don't like people who are not white, plain and simple. I grew up with people like this, the estate next to mine was full of members of the National Front in the 80's. I had lads in my school that were members of the NF and BNP. None of them used to talk about lack of access to social services or fear for job prospects due to immigration levels, they just simply used to spout vile rubbish about black and Asian people. Their interest is threatening, intimidating and assaulting people that don't look like them, there really isn't much more to it beyond this.
