It doesn't look like there is enough talent around to support a 24 team tournament. Slovenia had the potency going forward of an average championship side.

Portugal v Slovenia was my favourite game so far. As someone eluded to up thread, it perhaps puts England's 0-0 with Slovenia into perspective. Crap way for them to go out but that was some goal keeping in the shoot-out.

I gave up on it - Portugal were different to England in that they passed around the back a bit further up the field and had a slightly closer look at the organised defence in front of them. Maybe they were better in extra time.

Agree on Spain and perhaps Switzerland. Having said that I am now warming to the idea of England actually winning the whole thing whilst offering no discernible attacking threat a la Greece in 2004. If this happened the anti Southgate crowd would be so conflicted they may all spontaneously combust 😉
