Dani calling Carlton out for BS over those stupid new sunglasses and backed up by Robbie.

And what was with Abrahamson with those fantasy pink spots on his bike?
He knows that this is the Tour and not the Giro, right?
Dani then blots her copybook with having Carapaz riding for Ineos. At least she corrected herself, unlike motormouth.

Carlton was claiming the glasses are designed to stop people getting the noses sunburnt. I can't remember the exact response but it was basically saying that sounds like nonsense and it's probably an aero thing (which Robbie subsequently confirmed from the product publicity stuff).

Oh dear - I had only seen an image of the glasses, and it's clear as day, without me having read anything about them, (I don't even know what make they are) that they are designed as such for aero gains.
Are we sure he wasn't saying it to try and be funny........?

No, it was one of those assertions he makes in the hope no-one knows better.

To be fair to Carlton (I have no dog in this fight, my commentary is Danish) Groenewegen mentioned sunburn prevention in an interview about the glasses.

For what it's worth I did my part today, I changed over to ITV when Kirby started (including watching the adverts)
1 -
I was away yesterday and so only had a chance to watch the highlights on ITV
I'm watching the full stage today and feel that in the interest of balance, David Millar spotted Jonas' puncture on ITV straightaway but Rob Hatch was toon busy laughing with Adam Blythe to see it.

Blythe: "Is it true that mixing red wine with white wine creates rose?".
*Switches over to ITV"

Blythe is less of a contributor than he imagines.

I think he was deliberately trying to wind up JHB with the wine comment.

Carlton was actually OK today despite being a day where he needed to fill a lot of gaps.

He's just suggested that Rolic getting given same time could lead to riders deliberately falling off.

In his defence it's something that riders themselves joke about doing, and as with all good jokes there's more than a kernel of truth underneath it.
