With the obvious difference that in that case the migrants are being returned to their last country of transit with that country's agreement. That's the only major difference but quite a significant one.

Is that true? What evidence do they have the migrants came from Turkey? Who decides they came from Turkey and what right to appeal against this determination do migrants have?

The point wasn't about Brexit or any other country leaving the EU, it's about how Europe is shifting rightwards but the enlightened elite in the UK still think its the place to be.

It isn't a legal requirement that they come from Turkey to be sent there, it's just a reality. If Turkey is deemed by the court to not be a safe country for an individual, they are not sent there. Only about 2,000 have actually been returned.

And the Republicans have kicked out their own leader on the pretty reasonable grounds of openly endorsing a candidate from another party.
Popcorn on standby.
You'd think they'd be able to look across the pond and see that adopting unworkable populist policies while ignoring basic governance doesn't tend to work out well.

Ciotti has now locked the building where the party were going to meet to formally kick him out.

This covers the debate we’d probably have on the recent UK economic figures. Saves us all some time:

I'm sad no one's mentioned the American economy in the hypothetical argument.

Correction; he's locked himself in the building.
Way more fun than our effort.

when money isn't an issue, politics makes little difference to quality of life

I'm tempted to agree with you to a degree, but quite a few people who are wealthy enough to be non-doms seem to be changing their plans due to politics.

ones i know left mostly due to brexit damage to business, uae was popular with a few, pro-business, low taxes, low crime, politics certainly wasn't a factor for them
barring the obvious police states, it really makes little difference, make money and enjoy life, but if you want to virtue signal or change the world through activism/protest, it's safer to stay at home 😀
i'm mulling it over at the moment, southern eu, short flights to/from london, better weather/beaches/mountains/roads/quality of life, financial criteria for residence/citizenship track not an issue, there're even tax breaks on offer, i was quite surprised
definitely need to avoid areas that are going to be on fire due to climate change or rioting

Love the way you consider southern eu and then rule it out. Weather in Greece is currently killing people. Most of southern EU is on fire every summer.

At this point it is a credible theory that Just Stop Oil are in fact, psyops backed by big oil companies.

Stonehenge - that well known contributor to global warming. Looks like my assessment of them above was pretty accurate.

Just think of the carbon footprint of moving those huge stones. The farting of those neolithic people on poor diets with lots of fiber must have contributed greatly to greenhouse gases.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

They chose the stones at Solstice for maximum publicity and a time when the natural world is celebrated.
Maybe they considered the massive road due to be built nearby that threatens its UNESCO status and its future?
They didn’t do any damage, didn’t stop any traffic and certainly hurt no one. Maybe people are conditioned to just not like people protesting?

I think it is a poorly judged target. It might erode their hard won credibility.

The proposed road will have no impact on the World Heritage status, if anything it will enhance that status. The current road detracts from the site.

I'm curious to know how many geologists JSO have. You know, to confirm that a porous rock surface wony irrevocably absorb whatever dye or pigment they've used.
Or indeed chemists who might know the difference between the two.

I'm sure it helped them through the ice age.
I hope they throw the book at these utter bellends. Public tolerance has its limits, as XR found put when they disrupted the DLR, which of course puts out loads of CO2.
