Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays didn’t learn to read and write till the age of 22.

Millions on Earth who listened to him on TV or radio heard this :
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
But after returning from space, Armstrong said that wasn't what he had planned to say.
He said there was a lost word in his famous one-liner from the moon: “That’s one small step for 'a' man.” It’s just that people just didn’t hear it."

According to William Townsend, Deputy Director of the NASA facility named after the rocket pioneer, the Goddard Space Flight Center, "That flight became the underpinning of everything that we are able to do in space today and which we take for granted".
By the time Dr Goddard was 21 in 1903, he had already visualized flight in outer space, although it took him until 1926 to achieve his monumental accomplishment. Liquid-fueled rockets make it possible to reach the high frontiers of space. Dr Goddard recognised before virtually anyone else that developing this technology was critical to space exploration.

Article is old, but is about MH370. I hadn't realised that there was quite so much evidence pointing towards murder-suicide.

I don't often click on and read links but that was genuinely interesting. I was slightly surprised how easily they seemed to rule out the First Officer though.

I guess the argument is that he didn't have the skill or knowledge to do it.
I was puzzled how the pilot had oxygen, but no one else did.

The article seemed to be suggesting it was because he was a jolly nice bloke who smiled a lot.

Completely by accident, I happened upon a fanstastic programme on BBC about this a couple of weeks ago called "Why Planes Vanish - The Hunt for MH370"
Three or four experts in different fields who continued trying to locate the plane long after the official search had been called off.
Apparently there is about 20 minutes of Oxygen in the cabin whereas the cockpit has about 2 hours.
I won't throw a spoiler in here but if you're genuinely interested, I would definitely recommend giving it a watch.

I recently listened to a podcast about it too and it seems that it the case. They seemed to be convinced that everything pointed to the murder-suicide too.

I also learnt that the black box only records the last two hours of flight data, so even if it is found, it is likely to be just silence unless the pilot left a "Congrats, you solved it" message.

Honestly, if it interests you, watch it - it is very interesting and quite surprising the lengths that these people have gone to independently of the official search, the conclusions that they have drawn, how they got there and what could happen in the future

I'll give it a look. it was an episode of the Redhanded true crime podcast I heard it. Found it very interesting

One which was immediately going to be consigned to the "Too good to be true" bin, but the internet came through.
Repairing a TPU inner tube with electrical insulation tape. Yup, that's right. No fancy glues or buying patches, just good old insulation tape. Cut off the desired patch size, press down firmly and install. Lasted a 12 hour pressure test so far.

That Travellers make Easter Sunday, Traveller day at UK theme parks. We went to Drayton Manor on Sunday, and were surprised by the number of Traveller families there. On Googling it later, it is apparently a thing! Seems places like Thorpe Park and Alton Towers are much busier with them though. There were some very interesting sights!

lol boss said I looked very tired. Was incredulous that I wasn't sleeping in the spare bedroom. Even more incredulous when I told him I didn't have one. haha.
People live in different worlds, even if they sit next to you 9 hours a day.

If you get past your housesizeitis, there is some sensible advice there. There's no point in both parents being woken up. You can take it in turns and sleep somewhere else e.g. living room, daughter's bedroom, kitchen

Yeah I’d love to but not enough floor space in the kids bedroom.
Might try the living room but it’s so light in there not sure it’ll work.

Some children do sleep well. Ours took 18 months to get the hang of it. After a while being that tired just feels normal.

Sometimes the French are just weird... I was explaining that when you've eaten a bit too much, a good English expression is "I'm stuffed!" Pithy, and to the point. Seems the best French one is "J'ai les dents du fond qui baignent", or, in other words (literally) "My lower teeth are bathing".

Quite clearly a few dull men on here, this shouldn't surprise anyone 😂

I only watch the odd GCN vid, but was a bit surprised to hear Dan Lloyd say he's been smoking for approx the last 10 years, in his latest series intro about wanting to get fit again.
