Ample evidence of that with this lot. PPE & Mone, Freeport & Houchen, etc. for starters.

Admit to stopping reading Private Eye due to the constant corruption corruption corruption reporting, so necessary as that is. Just too depressing. WAFC.

Not sure if it's better or worse if he can separate business from his racist principles
Or, maybe the Tories scratch both itches

The tories managed the separation quite easily.

I'm sure it's always been there, but I do find the scale and obviousness/ of this lot extraordinary, being measured in millions and even billions, and not much attempt to hide it. Well, if they have made attempts, they're even rubbish at that.

Fwiw my wife’s best friend is a head at a primary school, is quitting to teach people in a prison as it’s too grim at the school (rough part of town).
Better work/life balance apparently.
Big loss for the children, she’s properly good.

You've got to hand it to Allison Pearson, this is quite bonkers and funny. It must be parody, surely?
"Do we really want 10 years of Labour supercharging Woke in our institutions, brainwashing schoolchildren to despise their country and feel guilty about its remarkable history, abolishing patriotic feeling (Bye bye Rule Britannia at the Proms, so long Union Jack!), banning parents from talking their own children out of mutilating their young bodies, giving comfort to Islamists and far Leftists who wish to destroy our way of life, repatriating Shamima Begum (Sham’s human rights being more important than ours, of course), pursuing a “safe routes”, all-barbarians-welcome immigration policy, expanding the WFH quango class and suffocating the spirit of free enterprise. Purse-lipped cultural revolutionaries making that British pastime “having a laugh” illegal (just you wait). To cap it all, legislating away free speech to the point where even discussing any of the above is a hate crime.
"Make no mistake, that is the very real danger if we, as many of the right-minded among us intend to do, either vote Reform UK or refuse to vote at all. Unfairly, Reform will end up with no seats and the Tories could hold so few that it will be the work of more than one term to get back into government. The Conservative Party may deserve that decade in the wilderness, but what about Britain? I am scared, quite frankly, hugely apprehensive. Afraid that our beloved country will be irretrievably lost under a moronocracy led by clod-hopping class warriors like Angela “Tory scum” Rayner.
"A courageous new conservative Conservative leader – a Kemi, Suella, Priti, Robert – committed to leaving the European Convention on Human Rights and taking back immediate control of our borders, who is elected straight after the certain bloodbath of the 2 May local elections, could do much to mitigate that awful fate, I think."

Fuck me if she’s not on drugs she needs to be.🤣🤣🤣

Going further and further to the Tight has seen the Tories become less and less popular so obviously the answer is to go even further Right with a ‘brave’ leader like Badenoch, Braverman or Patel. I can’t work out if people like that genuinely believe what they are saying or are just after a reaction.
If they don’t want Labour in power because of all this ridiculous made up stuff they’ll do the answer is in the opposite direction and moving back to the centre ground that the vast majority of voters occupy. They could have learned all this from Labour over the past 50 years or so, the only time they’ve been elected is when they’ve moved away from the Left.

It is at least reassuring that this demonstrates that the centre of mass of the British electorate is still generally centrist. Less clear that's the case in some other countries.

I see the Minister for Nonsense, Esther McVey is in trouble for renting out her London property while claiming rent expenses for another London property to live in. Funny how it's always the ones who shout loudest about efficient public spending who are found to be receiving a big benefit from the public purse.

Seems like that's the Plan B once claiming back mortgage payments was stopped.

MPs had the opportunity to build accommodation for all of them just across the river. It would have ended the whole shambles around expenses, but they chose not to.

I've never understood why they don't just have an MP campus where they can stay when on parliamentary business. It would also allow them to be protected quite easily. It would surely pay for itself over time.

I've been saying that since the expenses scandal during the last Labour government.

That was the proposal. They rejected it.

It's almost as though the current system gives them a benefit rather than just covering their actual work based requirements. Who'd have thought?!

So the publisher is gambling on maybe 1,000 sales. That’s generous by them but I suppose the value of the risk is peanuts for them.

Particularly if one is funded by the 55 Tufton Street ensemble.
As for that 'article' posted above by Pearson the junkhead, what issue do the gammonati have with Bad Enoch, Priti Vacant, Cruella B et al? Ain't they like non pale skinned immigrunts as well?

I think it's because they get a partial free pass on saying the racisty stuff.

I'm glad that Ms Lettuce has cleared that up. It takes a certain intellect to have such clarity of thought.

Have a look across the pond and see our future. Only voters can change the path by voting for the centre ground.
