S*** Small Races 2024

I think he's comfortably their best classics bet when TP isn't riding but he's been racing in Belgium since 2017 so I don't think it's fair to say that he's fresh out of Ecuador.
I guess my main problem was when you compare them to Movistar who sent 2 strong TTers into the break then Lazkano having a crack once it came back together, you could see that they had a plan of attack. Ok it didn't work but you could see they tried to differentiate themselves from the usual suspects and, to me, had a more prominent race for it.

Would like to have seen Tarling there, he's down for Dwars, RVV and PR though.

So the black shorts thing worked again!

Subject to mechanicals or illness, Bernal finishing on the podium of Catalunya is a cracking result for him. Pog did Pog things and won.

I've not watched much cycling so far this year but I have question.
Did Pogacar go to his hairsylist and ask to look like he was in an early 2000s British boyband?
Are the 2000s back in style? I hope so as I've lost an epic amount of weight and am now wearing the clothes I wore nearly 20 years ago.

To be fair, he was plan B today but Almeida didn't quite have it.

Pidcock DNS in Itzulia Basque after crashing on a recon of the TT course. He's off to hospital with his leg in a brace for a checkup. Didn't look good :-(

Tao not setting world on fire

A bit harsh, 26" down on Roglic (who will end up winner), 16" down on teammate Skjelmose, 11" down on Vingegaard - that's a respectable time.

What a pity that all the GC hierarchy had already completed the course by the time live coverage started.

Pretty strong field for the Basque Country race

This time Tao definitely missing out. Crash at about 4km out from the finish.

Was just thinking this looks like a really slippery road and another one tastes the tarmac.

Shockingly bad commentary today.
They don’t even know who is wearing each jersey.

For the whole stage they talked about the stage finish and who might win. Then zero info.
Now we will have to wait for the full results to find out what actually happened.

Split in the peloton happened outside the 3km mark, so genuine gaps.
But only Vine and Hayter missed out.

Race ruining crash ...

He was there, according to DK comms, didn't spot him myself, was looking for Jonas and Skjelmose ;-)

AG2R win the stage, but the brown shorts were a little further behind, when that Astana rider came unclipped and swerved over most of the road

Their main GC rider, Felix Gall was even further behind. He lost almost as much time as TGH: 3 and a half minutes.
Sepp Kuss lost a minute and a half. Several other GC hopefuls were in the large group at 23”.
Meanwhile, the Romain Gregoire, who caused himself to crash, got placed in the front group and didn’t lose a second.
In this instance, I think he’s a very lucky boy.

Tbf he crashed in the last 3k, and the rule doesn't say "you don't get the same time if you crash yourself "
