Preview is missing. Missing for me anyway. Was useful to e.g. check if the image one included actually looked ok.

I've found if I reduce the picture size to 60% it then allows me to post it.

I followed Brian's advice and reduce mine to 1200 pixels on the long side. That works.

And still the sign-in page doesn't work on mobile safari. Despite having reset my password on the desktop it just asks me to do it again and offers no sign-in link beyond that.

Have you tried just ignoring the request to sign in and e.g. click on Discussions? I had similar issue using Chrome on laptop (got myself signed in eventually post "upgrade" on my usual iPad / Chrome device), when I clicked through the next page showed me as logged in. Bit of a random try stuff 🤔 software world this, they don't want to make it easy after all. Apart from for the spambots that is...

My standard is 1600 x 1200, and it seems to handle those fine. Much better than the old platform. More than enough for most displays. I actually get a bit annoyed with photos at greater resolution on any website, especially when I'm eating mobile data.

There's a weird thing that if you use the quotation function (by clicking on the 'paragraph' symbol on the left), you can't have separate paragraphs within the quotation. Annoying.

Forum host has progressively got worse… the last one was worse than the previous and this one is the worst.
Looks like it also pretty much put a headstone on what was already a semi dead place. I notice now an entire section can go days without a single post… tyreads go days without being read… there really is nobody left, probably fewer than 100 active users…
It’s the end… shame, it was quite good at one point

I have discovered a shortcut for flagging (or at least I didn't know about it before) - if you click through to the spambots profile and click the spam icon that looks like a nuclear hazrd sign, you can see all their flagged posts andquickly add a flag to each of them without having to open the individual posts.
I think it only works if someone has already done at least 1 flag

Beware, if you flag twice you cancel out your original flag. Pay attention to the flag count while flagging.
