In Chrome, mouseover of a post causes the icons and links for Flag, Quote and Like to stack vertically. This makes the page jump all over the place, really irritating
Fixed, thanks!

Still getting the 403 failure when I try to quote (mobile safari)
Yup, that's persistent at the mo, as is the inability to upload or display linked photos.
There's obviously a very long list for unsnagging. This 'upgrade' seems to be as well thought-through and executed as well a Tory government policy announcement.

After the last time they updated this forum I thought they couldn’t make it worse . I was wrong ☹️☹️

Test. We have quoting back.

Seems like it! 👍️
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Well, kind of, as I tried to quote @photonic69 's comment, but it's quoted the one he quoted.
In other news, you can now upload photos to display, but no option to display images from elsewhere. On the plus side, the uploaded ones are proper size, unlike on the old platform.

Yeah, quoting 'works', in that *something* is quoted, albeit not the post you wanted to quote. Work in progress...

Then you can't edit it.

You can delete a quote once you've noticed it's the wrong one though.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Re quotes - you can't presently have separate paragraphs within a quote. At least it allows you full stops, capital letters and spaces, so it's not quite a stream of consciousness if one quotes a newspaper article, but you end up with sodding great paragraphs. (Just testing the swear filter there.)

The quotes don't seem to work at all. (a) it quotes a forum page not a person and (b) it selects the post seemingly randomly.
If the aim is for the forum to channel visits to the site for advertising chaps, stop fixing things that aren't broken, and if you do try to fix something, try not to disimprove it quite so much. This is a recurring pattern - if you do a search for "bike radar forum down".
Each time it come back fewer people can be bothered to wrestle with the bugs. And fewer people can be bothered to then read fascinating articles like "how to stay warm while cycling in winter" and other such traditional fare.

And there's no preview either.
Is not having a feature a new feature?

Is this a university IT degree dissertation, and you guys are actually writing the software? Because I'm sure there are forum platforms available that are actually finished. Hope that helps.

Oh, and if you click on the "Bikeradar" icon from the forum, it sends you to the forum, which is the page you are already on. I like that feature, because it will save me from accidentally clicking on one of the Merlin deals being advertised on the main page. Internet safety at its finest.

Bizarrely when I clicked to go in to the forum today. I went straight to a page which had John80’s banned profile.

It appears that my 'membership' has been reset. When I tried to login, I didn't see the 'forgot password' that was in the instructions, and it looks like I've registered again because my post count has gone to zero and I've beena member for 5 mins!
What do i need to do please?

I'm sorted. I tried again and got a different page this time AND found the username I used to have. Capt_Slog.
Please feel free to delete the 'CaptSlog' username, (the one without the underscore). :)
Thanks

Can't get to my old account either, for different reasons. Started a thread here but highlighting in case the BR team don't bother reviewing anything other than this current thread.

How do I mark "as read" ?
I normally read the ones I'm interested in and mark all the others as read so they don't pop up next time I log in.

It's a confusion to use
"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -
Is it worth coming back yet?

It's not good.
I still can't log in on mobile Safari and every time I use a different browser on a desktop it tells me it's been migrated and that I need to reset my password.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
The interface is crap and the standard of the content does not seem to have changed. I guess it depends whether you thought it was worth being on here in the first place.

If everybody thought about it rationally numbers would be down significantly.

Probably not worth the effort at the moment given the latest downgrade. Maybe when the road season starts.

The Spam filter doesn't seem to be working.

While true it's also interesting to see how many views many of those threads have. Considering it only takes 5 people to hit the "Flag" button for the thread to vanish.

The spam filter never worked.
As JimD666 says all that is required is for 5 people to flag them as spam. Quit whinging and start flagging.
I've done my bit and it is quite satisfying to see them vanish when you are #5.
