Extremely dishonest folks to continue taking orders right up to the point of shutting down.

I think it was poor trading practice to take advantage of Zipp name and come out with some kind of look/soundalike, so I am not surprised...

I would be checking the nipples on your rear wheel if I were you!

After three and a half summers of use, a couple of the nipple heads on my rear wheel gave way and on closer inspection there was serious galvanic corrosion throughout. See the hand-built wheels thread for details.

I've just rebuilt with new nipples and the wheels are back to looking and performing their best: there's years of life left in these yet.

I was always very happy with the quality of the wheels and the support I received 4 years ago, but obviously things went very wrong somewhere down the line. I never had the dodgy Zipp lookalike logos either!
  • Cheers for the heads-up. I'll check the nips...

Is anyone who does have Zuus rims running them tubeless? I think the latest (ie last!) lot they had in were allegedly TR but I tried to set mine up tubeless at the weekend and could not get them to stay inflated. They seemed to seat okay, but the air was just p1ssing out of the sides.

They changed their rim supplier in 2019, that's what Alyson told me. She said in order to improve the quality they did it. However I will take everything with a pinch of salt now considering the company zuus sports was dissolved in January and they started trading as carbon c afterwards. Most likely reason would have been cost saving!

If you can't seat it properly then maybe the rim is not up to the task!
  • Is this new company called 'Oosk' up in the Lakes anything to do with Zuus?
Oosk the number one selling tyre sealant ? in what country.

They have a 117 reviews on their website all have the same date of 4th July 2019, a couple mention Zuus in them - something is not right?
Possibly connected to Zuus Sports who went bust?

100% the same person. Saw an advert pop up on my Instagram for "Oosk" so tried to search for the profile. Lo & behold, look what pops up:

    https://www.instagram.com/oosk_1/
    Profile name: "Gary French" (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... 3/officers)

    I'd steer well clear...

There are 4 'Gary Lee French' listed on companies house. All with Cumbria addresses, and September 1965 DOBs. the companies they are associated with are Zuus, Carbon C, trendy kitchen ltd and Aghoco (who traded as Bike Kit Ltd). All listed as dissolved other than Carbon C, which shows as active. I suspect all 4 are the same person at different addresses.

No listing for the new company as yet but it could either be very new or a trading style of another company.

For sure I'd avoid this one.
