Any replies by Dahnhilla, SJ, Ben, Tom and a few others: Pointless criticism of people for no particular reason. OK guys, you want to appear to be far too cool for the forum and show it by criticising the activities of all other members, but at least do it with some humour?

Acting completely differently towards people and topics depending on who they are: Anything posted by El Capitano, homers double, Tartanyak, me, Alex, Nick, John, either of the Mikes... Those topics will be seen as perfect. The same topics posted by Beth, Heather or anyone else someone in the former list tells you not to like, will be attacked no end.

Basically, I don't care if you want to take the piss, to slag everyone off (as long as it's funny), to have a laugh. Just be consistent and don't go just for the people you don't like, and leave the 'high ranking' members uninsulted. Don't instantly assume a topic's shit because it's been posted by one of the people it's popular to hate. And stop being so goddamn hypocritical. You make suggestions, and if they're taken on board, you change what you want in order to carry on insulting the people.

Just grow the fuck up, please, I'm tired and pissed off with just reading topic after topic of people insulting eachother and making really bad attempts at taking the piss for not particular reason.

For as long as I can remember, the large majority of the sandbox has been dedicated to a contest to see who can be the most offensive. That used to be pseudo-intelligent (words longer than four letters, the odd semi-colon), but now just seems to be as many mentions of the words 'baby' 'pelvis' and 'anus' as possible with the ubiquitous evading of censorship. And posting the same 'funny' link for at least twelve years after the first, and last, time it was funny.

But, as I keep saying, the sandbox goes through highs and lows. Right now, in my opinion, it's at a very low low. But I presume that if the majority of the people want it to change, either they'd change it (they are why it's so crap, after all), or at the very least tell anyone.

I don't think it's my place (or that of any of the admins, or anyone else, really) to tell people how to use the Sandbox - the whole point of it is that it doesn't have any of the moderation that the rest of the forum endures (aside, obviously, from the extremes).

I'm fully aware that this is most likely a futile effort. But at least it is an effort. If I was trying to do this as an admin, I'd just start banning people. Instead I'm trying to effect change as a member.

For what it's worth, here are my thoughts;

This Forum (The Sandbox) has certainly gone down hill over the past few months. I'm finding much better places to play on the Internet, which would include the What MTB Forum amongst others.

It didn't help matters when you logged in here and the board would be full of topics from Heather and Beth, although granted, that has deminished of late, but a lot of the 'regulars' have been put off by this, they remember it, and hence, the abuse keeps coming.

Personally I admire your attempt to bring some order and sensibility in all this. However, I don't think it will work, purely due to your relationship with Beth.

It is always a fine line in here as to who is 'flavour of the moment', who is 'cool' or who is the next 'scape goat'. I've been all three and am still on here......but then I'm big, ugly and couldn't give a fu<s></s>ck anyways....

What you (and Beth) need to realise is that Beth is only tollorated on here, because of you're relationship. I don't think she has been accepted by the majority of members, or ever will be, she's purely tollerated (although I'm ready to be proved wrong if that's the case).

It would be nice if people could stick to their screen-names. Their seem to be cliques formed around those who know each other in real life and it seems like a lot of the problems stem from them; Heather, Beth, and some person called sam? but these are just names that mean nothing to a lot of people other than filling up threads with crap. If their is rot forming cut it out.

El cap, we've all known from the start you've never liked me but it's your fault I was here originally so in future consider the consequences of your actions first.

Now, to El cap and everyone else, I see no problem with me being here because I'm now starting to try take up mountain biking as a sport, so what if it's only because of my boyfriend, was wrong with wanting to be interested and be able to participate in what Chris likes to do, just how he come swimming with me from time to time.

If someone tells me to go away just to spite them I'll stay and annoy them generally, but mainly i stayed here because the other place was full of 9-11 year olds speaking in text and talk and I thought this might be a slightly better place, and in some ways more mature, even if it was only in insults.

To a certain extent I don't mind being insulted and all that crap and often I do find your insults funny, but you all tell me it's only the internet and to calm down but then why do you get so annoyed if i make what you say is a "stupid" topic?

At the end of the day now I am only here because of Chris, but isn't it the same as Sam being on here because of Simon, and Maite being on here because of Mat, and Mattie's Jess being on here too?
