<s>I don't know whether anyone has been there ( it's in Scotland in the outskirts of Glasgow ), but this track is one of the few places in the area with large sections of northshore, and large drops/gaps.
Due to some health and safety sh!te, anything above 1.5metres in height is to be demolished, and has to be redesigned by an engineer, and passed off by one. This is a serious problem for us as theres simply not enough funding coming in to pay for this.
Here is an email address "contact@lennoxtowninitiative.co.uk"
If anyone who has been there / cares about the trails would be kind enough to email them debating this plan, it would be greatly appreciated by me, all the local riders, and the trail builders who have put in months of serious work to get to where we are now.

Info about trails can be found here : http://www.glasgowmtbmad.pwp.blueyonder ... ilders.htm

If I remember rightly, there were a few people on here who had been to the trails, and I think UHDH was coming to check it out, so if you still want to, then please email them.</s>

Holy ****ing shi<i></i>t!!! All the northshores gone. All of it. Demolished last night. Fu<u></u>ck. [:(!][xx(][:(][B)]

I dont think you understand. Theres a LOT of stuff there. It would take more than 6 months to build everything again, and thousands of pounds have been spent on wood/hardcore to build it. This isn't just your regular local trails.

^^don't listen to that tosser. his plan will lead you to being banned from biking there completely.

There's no way to avoid health & safety legislation, no matter how many people email that address for you. Just make the sections lower and more technical if you want a challenge

    But... the see saw. [:(]

Yeh I think that's what we will have to do. It's incredibly unfortunate, they were hoping to get national recognition much like carron valley did, and get proper funding etc. and I don't know of anywhere else in the UK that had northshore as high as they do.

Whens it getting done? Im guesing that if its health and safety not much canbe done. I have a freind who sometimes helps to build who says that if someone gets injured and trys to claim insurance the place gets knocked down. Nearly all of the place is over 1.5M Isnt it and? I would also hate to see the see saw being taken away.

There are plenty of warning signs, and the forestry has allowed it the past few years, and had a safety inspector up who cleared it as safe.
The first part is quite tricky which deters anyone lacking in skill from even trying it, and no one has _ever_ fallen off in the 4 years it's been there.

UHDH I'm not sure fully on the situation yet, I was only informed tonight, so I shall get back to you once I speak to ryan.

it shouldnt be *too* hard to lower it, should it?

Would it be a case of removing the tops, cutting down the uprights and re fitting it again?

Always best designing things with the future in mind, makes it easier replacing broken/rotten sections [:)]

    Thanks.
You should come up at some point during the summer? We'll all be going up every other day ( when were at home ) so name a date and we can arrange something. Same goes for you Tavy.

RSU, yes I think that's what will happen, but there is a gap onto a downslope, and all the speed is <i>needed</i> from that as 10m after theres a 20foot wood to wood gap that's recently been built. There was also a plan to continue after this onto a funbox, then a helter skleter style run down to ground level again.

Either the 30th june/1st july or 14th july/15th july are my best bets. After that, I'm out to France, a week filming a zombie film then back to work and straight off to the world champs.

Yeah but if they decide someone could get hurt it goes. Happened to me when I built on allowed private land which had a right of way, they just took it down.

OK well good/bad news. The north shore hasnt all been removed, but the first and last 2 metres of all of it has been dismantled so it is unrideable. I think we have some time to lower it all, and my friend knows this guy who is an engineer, so he can "design" it for us. The large 19 foot wood to wood gap has been dismantled, and the new road gap is also been bulldozed. Im not too sure about the bottom half, as it is a private land owner who owns this land, so it might not be affected by the new forestry laws.
