Jumping off tower bridge...

Me and my mate _really_ want to jump off tower bridge in London.

Just wondering if anyone has ever done it (not necessarily on this forum) and if there is a large chance of dying. We have a boat we can use to pick us up on landing, and a flat to run to if the police come that is right next to tower bridge.

Wear wetsuits? Any words of advice?

Risky, a few hundred metres away from Tower Bridge is the Police boat jetty thing, so they'd probably be the ones to fish you out!! Plus I'm not sure I'd particularly want to jump in the Thames!!

i dont think you would die but it would fucking hurt, best to do it when the tide is in, and i would say wearing a wetsuit is a good idea, you are going to look a bit suspicious. DO IT and make a video

Im sure stevo-did it. or could of been london bridge. I assume you mean from the road and not the tower?

You wont need wetsuits. there will be a jetti at the edge. land like a pencil feet first. have mates at the edge with clothes to change into then just walk away all smooth like.

its a considerable drop, and from that kinda height, your going to hit the water like it was concrete. it can break bones.

Jumping into water from that height will be like hitting concrete. There's a big chance of being knocked unconscious and drowning. The Thames is cleaner than it was, but it's still not swimming territory.

Oh, yeah, a wetsuit is required. If you're not wearing one and you enter water feet first, the force of the water can force its way past your anal sphincter and rupture you internally worse than lubeless man-rape ever could.

i have done a cliff jump before , and its advisable to keep your arms folded across your chest and always look at your feet. This helps to keep you vertical.
i dunno how high tower bridge is ... but from 60 ft , the water clattered my knackers quite a bit (keep your legs together) and turned my eyelids inside out.

considering getting jabs ??
you just dont know what you are gonna be splashing about in, mostly diesel and turds i would imagine.

i hope this is gonna be videoed [:D]

if you are doing it from the road bit you will just be able to walk along normal and jump in before anybody knows what to do, but iff you are stood there bottling it you are going to get caught, these guys seemed to be alright

edit: and about the water thing, isnt it a good idea to throw something in before you to "break" the water, i.e bricks in a bag?

Don't be stupid. If you break the water first, it'll take a few minutes to run back together, so you'd smack straight into the riverbed before even touching the water.

Doing it at high tide, from the road, in the middle, leaves you with a 20' fall.

that does sound pretty easy. but you do have to take into account the large amount of river traffic who'll not be able to stop running you down

pretty busy aye, all sorts of boats go up and down that part of the river.
road height to river is no distance at all at high tide, worth a shot!

as long as you do it right you should be fine. as has been said, keep your arms crossed, head down and point your toes down and you should be fine.

1, as said, wear a wetsuit to prevent any body shock
2, arms folded in an X accross chest, hands over face to disrupt water impact on face (its gonna go up nose)
3, DO NOT use ear or nose plugs, pressure could force them inside you. nose clip might work if its external
4, when you come up above water you will be disorientated

Right on, this sounds not too dangerous!

STU, I'm sure it's more than 20ft, even at high tide and in the middle.

River traffic is no worries, we have a boat that can pick us up.

Will hopefully be doing it at some point in the summer.

And as for bricking it, most people who've met me on here will know that I don't think twice about many things!

Video footage is of course obligatory, because without that, it didn't happen!

iv done na 10ft peer jump before. that was ok but after a few attemts you can taste iron in your mouth. not nice

Slightly more than 20' then as that's maximum boat clearance, probably nearer 25.
