Need urgent help here if any one knows anything.
I owe a Bayliff œ1000. I own nothing other than my Van which is my sole way of making money. He is threatening to take my van away this afternoon. Can he do this being that it would essentially leave me, Jobless, homeless and with absoloutely no hope for anything else other than living on the streets?

Yes they can and they won't take pitty. Lock it in a garage with no open windows/doors on the van/garage and you will get away with.

Holy corr blimey my life will be over by 4pm.

I am on a computer as I have keys to someones house and while they are out at work I am allowed to come in and use there shower and PC to try and sort things out

If there's a baliff on your doorstep then there's a court order against you in the amount of œ1000, plus baliff costs. You need to find the œ1000 very very rapidly or you'll be charged significant further baliff costs.

Credit card might do it, or see if you can work out a payment plan.

Tried a payment plan and he said fine we'll set up direct debit for you. Now he's going to take my van the bernard mathews!. I dont know whether this is scare tactics. My credit rating is terrible so no chance of a credit card

You're required to provide payment or goods amounting to the amount owed (which is increasing by a lot everytime the baliff contacts you).

If your van is the only thing of value you have, then you're going to lose your van. There's no way out.

Can you get maybe a third of the money owed? Pay a chunk off and then negotiate a payment plan, maybe?

Are there any goods that the bailiff cannot seize?
Bailiffs (except bailiffs acting on behalf of the magistrate's court - see below) cannot seize the following goods:

* tools, goods, vehicles and other items of equipment necessary for use by you in your employment, business or vocation;
* clothing, bedding, furniture, household equipment and provisions as are necessary for satisfying the basic domestic needs of you and your family

Bailiffs acting on behalf of the magistrates' court cannot seize the following goods:

* clothing, beds and bedding, tools of the trade
* basic domestic needs of the family would normally include fridge, cookers, freezers, but may not include video recorders, second TV's, jewellery, washing machines, stereos or microwave cookers.

If you try to play games with a baliff, they'll genuinly tear your life apart bit by bit, with the full backing of the court.

If you don't have the money and don't have a card, you'll need to find someone to loan you a thousand pounds.

Well I will happily die before giving away my van so I say bring it on. Im not one of these usual scrotes who's been old mans stamp collectioning around borrowing money here there and everywhere and if my van goes then so does my life. My buisness fell on hard times and although I had been trying to pay my supplier I guess he has to look aftert his own and took me to court. However if I couldnt afford to pay him then I cant afford to pay anyone else. Like I said without my van I have no Job, Home or prospects. If he wants to take what tiny little scrape of a life Im just about managing to keep together Im willing to fight for it or die trying. At least if I get arrested I will eat and have a roof over my head. Thats one more than I have now
