    I could have sworn I saw fedora core5 ported somewhere though. Oh well, I'm probably wrong.

    So can you select what you want to boot to? If so, I'm actually starting to consider getting one. Okay, the support for games on apps like cedega is poor, but there is so much more I could do with it and it'd be much cheaper than buying a new pc. Also theres all the games that are available primarily for the PS3.

    If you installed Linux on a PS3 wuld it still play PS3 games or would you just basically have a really powerful computer?

    if you want to buy a realiable console just buy a 360...good for money and more games than the ps3..

    my 2 favourtie games are metal gear solid and gran turismo which are both ps3 exclusives, didnt stop me from buying an xbox 360. and i have to say they are better than the ps3

    The 360 has been going a lot longer than the PS3 and, as such, has better games at the moment... It's not rocket science. However, as developers get to grips with the PS3's hardware, the 360 will be outpaced. Some Developers have already mentioned how the size of DVD is limiting, and that's just the most basic edge a PS3 has. It'll come down in price as components do as well... I think the inclusion of things like the ability to install Linux etc has turned a lot of people back towards Sony, it's a pretty big thing to do and a direct spit in the eye to M$. We'll just have to wait and see what happens this Christmas and next Christmas I suppose.

    What do you mean they are better? both have advantages and disadvantages, they are suited towards different sorts of people

    well the picture quality of the xbox 360 and the ps3 are basically the same, and the xbox costs about œ200 less for the top spec one.

    we have had this discussion before. But its not as simple as that. PS3 has blu-ray, ability to install linux etc which justify the price

    Personaly I think its worth and much better then xbox 360. When I saw Far Cry Vengeance I almost sold my kidney to buy ps3 [:0]

    If I couldnt afford a PS3 i would get a 360 cos its better than nothing, but Would much prefer a PS3
