Hmm, unfortunately, due to an influx of visitors from Japan next week, I can't make that ride. [:(]

Riding 16 pennine miles a day for the next 8 months on the road. Off-road starts with a ride with my cross-country mad brother over the hills on Saturday.

A bit of training info:

The laps look like being about 7 miles long.

Lap times of the leading teams this year was around 30 mins.

So, train to be able to ride for 30 minutes (at above 14mph), then rest, then do it again, and again, and again.....

Ooh. I do 8 miles in 35 minutes (damn traffic lights) on the road...

I shall practice on mountain bike. Must find a 30 minutes route.

I ride mostly off road to work which must be about 6 in 30 mins. Sometimes.

Hmm, a slight miscalculation and google search gives a distance closer to 5 miles in 30 minuets. Still not that far off the pace though if I put the training in.

Plan would be a sprint up to hollingworth lake, ride round it twice and back home (which includes a big down and a big up each way) I reccon that would be closer to 7 miles.

edit - google = 8 mile round trip, if I can do that in 30 minuets were on the podium.
